You're listening to My Morning Devotional Podcast, episode 1476.

00:00:04.040 --> 00:02:47.360
Today's devo is called You're Not Alone. Hey there, we're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to-do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a 5-minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning, everybody, and happy Monday. My name is Rachelle Alessi, and I get the privilege of being with you guys this week. I'm very, very excited. This is my second time filming on video. I hope that you guys are enjoying this. And again, if you're just like listening to the podcast, just keep listening to it. As long as you're somehow consuming the podcast, we're happy that you're part of this family and that we're growing. But we actually have grown a lot since we started with video, and we're so thankful for all of our new listeners and now watchers, I guess, right? That's what you guys would be called, I hope. And it's been a great time just getting to know you and hearing your comments. Thank you so much for commenting and just letting us know your thoughts, and it's always a great help for us, and just getting this feedback continues to help us put these together. But this month, the month of March, is going to be really fun because we're actually talking about like internal struggles that usually we don't voice out loud and things that we go to or go through really on a regular basis or when times get hard. And it's more like our internal processing ways that people don't get to see. But what I love about this podcast is that because there's 4 hosts, we're all very different. I believe that we get to connect with some of you out there, and so all of you will not be left alone. Somebody will be able to relate to somebody this month, and I hope that this really blesses you. But today's podcast was called "You're Not Alone," and the reason I called it that is because one of my internal struggles when going through some hard things could be isolation. And it's funny because it could come from many different things. It could come, I'm disappointed, I'm not really knowing how to communicate, and I'm more of an introverted, not so good with my words person. This podcast has taught me to be better, but it's isolation. And when I'm going through something hard or something that's challenging, or honestly, guys, just disappointment in my life— things were not met the way that they were, or things didn't happen the way I thought they were going to happen, and I experienced some type of disappointment or discouragement I tend to isolate. I'm not an outward processor, so I don't tend to just speak my emotions and process that way.

00:02:47.360 --> 00:02:58.639
And so because I internalize most of what I'm thinking or going through, sometimes because I can't make sense of what I'm feeling or going through, I do tend to isolate.

00:02:58.639 --> 00:03:49.340
And I realized over the years that it was a struggle, and my sisters used to call me out on it all the time, and they would pull me out of it and be like, you need to speak, you need to talk what's going on. And now being married for a couple years, my husband is so good, he's so patient with me. But even he's helped me be like, okay, let's talk through this. What are you thinking? You don't have to be perfect with your words. But the truth is that disappointment and discouragement could really hit us. And some of us, we isolate. Some of us react other ways. But even through any season of life that might be hard, when you're just so focused on getting through something, or just getting by, right? You do tend to isolate, and that is such a dangerous place to be. And I've learned that that's really sometimes where the enemy wants you.

00:03:49.340 --> 00:04:21.670
Experiencing hard things, discouragement, disappointment in life, it's normal. It is part of life. But the isolation part of it is what the enemy wants to use to keep you there and not let you see the bigger picture. And I love Psalm 34:18, and it says, the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. And the truth is that sometimes we're crushed in spirit and we are brokenhearted, but the Bible says that the Lord is near to those specific people.

00:04:21.670 --> 00:04:47.629
And this is a truth from the Lord. Do not let the enemy keep you in isolation and alone and in loneliness because of what you are going through, because the Bible says that the Lord is near to you. And this is such a great, just great verse reminder for me, because God is close in the loneliest seasons of our life.

00:04:47.629 --> 00:05:03.290
And the beautiful thing about that is that God is still speaking through these seasons, and we don't have to make sense of everything by ourselves. We can go to the Lord because he's near, but he's still speaking to us.

00:05:03.290 --> 00:05:41.149
And in those moments is when we actually need to shut down or shut off every voice that doesn't belong and just turn up the Lord's voice and his Bible even more, because those are the seasons with, with him where we grow, but when his word actually becomes even more real to us because of what we're going through. And we get to experience a new level of the Lord in this walk because of what we're going through. And so I truly encourage you today, if you're like me and tend to isolate, don't. Immediately say, I know this is my tendency, so these are going to be my steps.

00:05:41.149 --> 00:05:51.230
I'm going to go talk to my friend. I'm going to go talk to my husband. I'm going to go and talk to my counselor. I'm going to go talk to my, my leader, the person that I trust, my mom, my dad.

00:05:51.230 --> 00:06:13.259
If I know I'm going through something, I'm going to go to somebody and I'm going to say, hey, this is what I'm going through. Somebody that's trusted, somebody that can help you and lead you, and say, please don't let me isolate. Hold me accountable to that because that's where the enemy wants me, and I'm not going to use this season to not hear from the Lord.

00:06:13.259 --> 00:06:20.970
In this season, I can hear from God, grow deeper in my faith, faith and get through this. And so let's do this together.

00:06:20.970 --> 00:06:24.889
Let's not isolate because the Lord promises to be near us.

00:06:24.889 --> 00:07:16.910
So let's pray. Dear Father God, thank you so much for this morning, for this week that you have given us, Father. And I just thank you for even the trials that we go through because those are the moments that we grow stronger and our faith grows deeper with you. And we choose today to not stay in isolation because that's not the plan of God. Since that beginning, Lord, you provided Adam and helped me because we were not meant to be alone and do this life alone. And further on this life, we've seen that you are here for us. And even in your word says that you are near to the brokenhearted and crushed in spirit, which means even when we feel our worst, Lord, there you are still next to us, and you will surround us with the right people to help us get through hard things, but be victorious at the end of the day. So we thank you for that. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

00:07:16.910 --> 00:07:38.670
