Your Ways Are Higher

Your Ways Are Higher

Have you ever found yourself worrying about what the future holds, wondering how things will work out? In today’s episode, host Richelle Alessi invites us to explore the comforting truth found in Isaiah 55—that God’s ways and thoughts are so much higher than our own. Together, we’ll reflect on practical ways to let go of anxiety, trust God’s perfect plans, and shift our focus from our worries to His wisdom. As a community, we’ll learn how to rest in the assurance that even when we don’t understand, God is always working things out for our good.

Join us as we come together in prayer and daily devotion, relying on God’s guidance and letting His peace fill our hearts.

00:00:29.705 --> 00:00:33.450
Good morning, everybody, and welcome to another week of My Morning Devotional.

00:00:33.530 --> 00:01:21.254
My name is Rachelle Alessi and I get the privilege of being with you this week. And I'm going to be real. I'm going to keep this week very simple. The week that I did a couple weeks ago was the first time I went over every single episode. And it's because I was speaking on a subject that I was really so passionate about. But this week I won't do that to you, I promise. I'm just as passionate, but I just want to keep it simple in the way that there are some verses that are just a great reminder for our everyday life. The moment we wake up, we can apply them in every area and they're great encouragement to get our eyes off ourselves and put everything on God. And so the verse that I want to read today is Isaiah 55, 8, 9.

00:01:21.341 --> 00:04:41.670
And it says, for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. I think this verse is such a great reminder about God's ways and God's thoughts and the way that God does things. Because sometimes we can get caught up in so many things that give us anxiety or fear throughout our day, things that are coming in the future, things that will be happening in a couple of months, or even something that's happening today. I know that there are situations that kind of stay in our minds and we start to count down the days from that specific thing, whether it's a new job interview or a big meeting or a big family meeting or a situation that's going on with the family, a birthday that you have to go to, a friend you're going to have to encounter, a boss you're going to have to encounter, or even a situation you might be dealing with. And I know in our minds, you almost, even though you go about a day, some of these things are in the back of your mind and you're Always like, how is that going to be? How is that going to work out? How's that day going to be? But I think this verse is such a great reminder to put our eyes on the Lord. Because God's thoughts are higher than ours, his ways are higher than ours, which means the Lord has made a perfect way. The Lord thinks perfect thoughts, and what the Lord is thinking and what the Lord is doing is so much higher than us, then what we could do, the best thing we could do, is cast our cares upon the Lord, give it to them, and ask him to help us see the ways that he's making, to help us think the thoughts that he's thinking. Because if we align our ways and our thoughts with the Lord, we're going to live such a freer life and we're going to have less anxiety and less fear because we're aligned with the Lord. And it doesn't mean that we understand everything we're going through, but it does mean that we acknowledge that we trust the Lord, that his thoughts and his ways are perfect and they're higher than anything we could ever think about or anything we could ever do. And so that we can rest in that peace of the knowing that the Lord's thoughts and ways are higher. And so whether he reveals his ways to us right now or tomorrow or in a week or in a year, we can trust that his ways are better. Which means I'm not going to be dealing with any anxiety or worry today because I'm going to trust the Lord. So with that being said, let's pray for today. Dear Father God, I just want to thank you for another beautiful day of life. Thank you for giving us another week to be able to dive into your Word and apply these verses in our everyday life. And so I just pray that this week, Father, we approach, approach every situation with knowing that your thoughts and your ways are better. Which means we trust you. And whether you reveal things to us now or later, we're not going to be dismayed. Because we know, Lord, that you are perfect and you're working everything out for the good of those you love. So we thank you once again. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
