Through personal stories and encouragement drawn from 2 Corinthians 1:18-20, we'll learn how our response to God's "yes" can be a confident "Amen," grounded in gratitude and trust.

You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1394. Today's Devo is called yes and Amen. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.199 --> 00:01:05.000
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Well, happy Thursday, everybody. Welcome back to the My Morning Devo podcast. This is Gabby, your host, and I don't know about you, but I have been loving this week's devotional content and. And just what we've been talking about as we continue to talk about the goodness of God, who he is, and it's just stirring up such a. A spirit of thankfulness in my heart of who God is. And I think today's Devo is really going to bless you as we talk about yes and Amen. We're going to talk about the promises of God, because I don't know about you, but I am grateful for the faithfulness of God.

00:01:05.640 --> 00:01:08.680
Guys, I am sitting in a season.

00:01:09.560 --> 00:01:23.590
I'm. I am living in a season right now that I prayed for ever since I was a little girl. It was a season that I would think about, I would dream about, I would. I would pray and talk to God about. I would make a vision board about.

00:01:24.469 --> 00:01:28.069
This was something that I really did want God to do for me.

00:01:28.549 --> 00:01:35.750
And I'm sitting here and I can confidently say that God was faithful to do everything that I prayed for and more.

00:01:36.469 --> 00:01:50.700
That God answered every prayer and answered the prayers that I never even prayed that God did exceedingly, abundantly, above all that I could even think, imagine, or even ask why? Because that is who God is. He is faithful.

00:01:51.579 --> 00:01:55.180
And when he gives you a promise, he will always come through.

00:01:56.060 --> 00:02:07.739
In second Corinthians 1, verse 18 through 20, it says this. It says, but as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not yes and no. Now follow me here.

00:02:08.219 --> 00:02:41.229
For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me and Silas and Timothy, was not yes and no, but in him it has always been yes. For no matter how many promises God has made, they are yes in Christ. And so through him, the amen is spoken by us to the glory of God. All right, I'm gonna. I'm gonna repeat this again. I'm gonna focus on verse 20. For no matter how many promises God has made.

00:02:41.800 --> 00:03:22.780
They are yes, in Christ. Here is your reminder today. Here is the thing that we can hold on today. Here is the thing we can be grateful for today. That every promise God has made, big or small, they are yes, in Christ Jesus. So if God made you a promise, yes. If you ask God to do something for you and you heard his voice on it, and you are in alignment with the Lord, yes To that promise. God's promises are yes. And our response, because it continues to say so through him, the amen is spoken by us to the glory of God. If God says yes, our response is amen.

00:03:23.659 --> 00:03:26.539
You see, that word amen means so be it.

00:03:27.099 --> 00:03:48.189
God, if you said it, I believe it. It's like that CC wine and songs believe for it. You said it, I believe it. It is done. God, if you said, my son's going to come back to you and have a strong relationship with the Lord and get involved in church and he's going to marry the right woman and he's going to have the good, raise good children, yes. And amen.

00:03:48.430 --> 00:04:13.669
God, if you said I was healed, amen. If you said my child would be healed, amen. If you said that job is mine, amen. So be it. It is done. Case settled. Aren't you grateful that we have a God that we can depend on like that? Aren't you grateful that we serve a God that is faithful to come through? And, and the truth is, sometimes his faithfulness isn't what we expect.

00:04:14.628 --> 00:04:21.509
And in fact, it's so much greater than what we expect. His faithfulness is even better than we can imagine.

00:04:22.149 --> 00:04:37.209
So you might be in a season where you go, well, I'm, I'm kind of disappointed because the relationship that I thought that, you know, the guy that I was in a relationship with and I thought I was going to marry him, it just ended one day to the next. And I'm kind of disappointed, like God didn't come through. I've got news for you.

00:04:37.449 --> 00:04:40.730
Maybe that guy isn't what God has for you.

00:04:41.370 --> 00:04:55.300
You might be saying, well, I just lost my job and the door closed and I thought God was going to, gonna, gonna prosper me. You know, I'm a tither. I'm this, I'm that. I thought God was gonna do it. Maybe the job isn't where God wants to show his faithfulness.

00:04:55.860 --> 00:05:03.060
Maybe that guy isn't the person that God wanted to prove to you. His faithfulness in there is something greater on the way.

00:05:03.300 --> 00:05:36.870
Because God said, yes, God came into agreement. So it's on us to come into agreement with the promises of God. If he says yes, I say Amen. So be is done. And that is something to be grateful for. So Father, we thank you for your faithfulness. We thank you that you have come through time and time again. Father, even when it doesn't look like what we imagined, what we prayed for, you are still on time. You still came through. You still said yes and it happened. And we thank you for it.

00:05:36.870 --> 00:06:22.949
God and I pray that all day we can just focus on the faithfulness of you. Father, I pray that we go back and we can count and write down all of the moments that you've been faithful to us. God, it's not just in this season that you're faithful. We heard about it on Monday. You're the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and forever. God, you were faithful to us back then. You will be faithful again today and we thank you for it. In Jesus name I pray. Amen and Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
