Speaker:

You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1558. Today's Devo is called Wisdom in Hoping. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Well, welcome everybody. It is Wednesday. Great day. Wednesday is a great day. I don't know about you guys, tell me if this is true for everybody, but I feel like Wednesday is the most busy day of everyone's life. It's like all the games happen on Wednesday for me, all of the filmings, the tapings, and all of the services. We have youth service on Wednesday. So Wednesday could be a lot. And I actually think it's really unique because we're gonna talk about hope today because sometimes you feel like all hope is lost on Wednesdays because you're smacked up in the middle of the week and you feel like you don't have the energy to get through it. But God gives you the energy. Proverbs 23:18 says this. Surely there is a future and your hope will not be cut off. I'm just declaring right now and believing that this episode is going to be for somebody that maybe you just lost a relationship, lost a job opportunity, maybe it's you lost a home opportunity and you are feeling like all hope is lost. The Holy Spirit is using today's episode to speak to your heart. Hope is one of the quiet strengths of a faithful life. Hope is something that is internal. It's not something that everyone might see. It's not something that you always talk about, but it's an inner strength. It's a quiet strength of a faithful believer. And here's the thing. We're not talking about hope as if. As in everything's easy and everything's fine and life is just so easy and fun and it's just there's no struggle in life and we just live in this utopia of everything's fine. No, that's not hope. Biblical hope is saying, even in the midst of the hard times, God is still good. God is still present, and he's still working. I hope in the Lord. I have a trust in the Lord that even in the midst of all of this bad, my hope belongs in Him. And I just love that Proverb says, surely there is a future. Your Hope will not be cut off. It's a reminder that if you are feeling like there's no future for my for my life, or there's no future for my relationships, there's no future for my job or my finances, whatever that might be, fill in the blank of no future. Wisdom reminds us. Proverbs reminds us that your hope won't be cut off. There is a future ahead of you. There's so much more ahead of you. And I love it because Proverbs is pointing us forward. It's reminding us that our future is not built on today's emotions or circumstances, but today is built on God's faithfulness. We don't make decisions of our lives that based on feelings, based on opinions, based on emotions. We base our belief, our hope and our vision on God's faithfulness. So if you know God is faithful, then you know he will continue to be faithful. If you know God is good and he's a provider and he always comes through, then in the midst of bad times, you know he's going to show up. It's the inevitable. And the difficult thing is it's easy to believe when things are good. But then what happens when we're disappointed? What happens when there's a delay or you think there's a delay? What happens when you're going through something that is painful because disappointment, it makes your heart heavy? Delays will make us, if we're not careful, delays will make us cynical. And then pain will try to tell us and tempt us to stop expecting God to move. Stop expecting for it to work out. Stop expecting for good things to happen in the future. But this is where we need to look at this verse and remind ourselves surely there is a future. Our hope won't be cut off. So remember this hope grows when we remember who God has been in the past. And the same God who carried us before will sustain us again. Let's not let temporary hardship convince us of a permanent defeat. It's just a season, it's just today, it's just this week. But carry that hope. Continue to hold on to hope. So if we are remembering God's faithfulness in the past, then I have this question for you. Where do you need to remember God's faithfulness in your life? Maybe God did something for you, or maybe it was in your brother or sister's life. Ask the Lord today. Ask yourself today, where was God faithful for me? And hold on to that hope. Come on, let's pray. God, I just pray right now that you would renew the hope of every listener today. Help us believe that you are working even when we cannot see the outcome. And we are holding on to hope. We are holding onto your faithfulness and we can't wait to see the outcome of it all. In Jesus name, Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
