00:00:00.479 --> 00:00:22.000
You're listening to My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1417. Today's Devil is called Win youn Mornings. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:22.320 --> 00:01:02.530
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Tuesday. My name is Rachelle Lessie, and I get the privilege of being with you this week. The theme this entire week is really about winning our holiday season. And like I said yesterday, our holiday season looks so different for everybody. And you know what? How about in the comments, wherever you guys send us messages, I would love to hear what your holiday season is like. How about you guys start to share what you're looking forward to during this Christmas season.

00:01:02.770 --> 00:01:17.530
Is it a favorite dinner? Is it Christmas morning? Whatever it is that is your favorite thing to do or a tradition or something you're looking forward to this year or something that you want us to pray for for you during this season, let us know.

00:01:17.530 --> 00:01:31.920
We want to continue to hear from you. As the year is coming to a close, how about we end it together? In this way, maybe some of us can learn from each other and implement new things from what we hear and to just make this holiday season a little bit different.

00:01:32.239 --> 00:02:19.330
But today, guys, I want to talk to you about winning Our Mornings. This is a theme, actually, that our entire staff has been going through this year and it's made a difference even in our home. And I think I actually talked about it a little bit at the beginning of the year. And then I brought it up again with my husband on ways that we do things in the morning. So you settle our day and just make our days better and make our weeks better. And I want to read this verse that is found in Psalms and it goes perfect with our mornings. And it says this Psalm 53 in the morning, Lord, you hear my voice in the morning, I lay my request before you and wait expectantly.

00:02:20.129 --> 00:02:50.210
I actually have to be honest, this is a theme I wanted to do, but I was trying to find a verse. And so I went to Faithful Google and I wrote some verses on this theme and this psalm came across. And even though I've read Psalms so many times, it was like I was reading this Psalm for the first time, I have to confess. And I'm like, is this a. I don't remember this Psalm. Is this a real thing?

00:02:50.770 --> 00:03:16.289
And I went to my Bible and I read the whole thing, and I encourage you to read the whole chapter, but I was so encouraged that it's written so beautifully. In the morning, Lord, you hear My voice. Guys, when you wake up in the mornings and you speak to the Lord, immediately He hears you. You know, I'm a mom, and in the mornings, I know when my son's awake.

00:03:16.770 --> 00:03:20.129
I hear him talking. I hear his footsteps.

00:03:20.449 --> 00:04:46.670
I know the sound even of his footsteps. I know when he's awake. And the moment that he starts to call my name, I run to him and I am ready to hear everything that he wants to tell me. And I'm still trying to figure out where my son is trying to tell me. His words are still so funny. And so every day is a learning game and a guessing game of what he's saying. But in the mornings, it says that the Lord hears our voice and we should just lay our requests down and wait expectantly. And I just encourage you this week and for the rest of the year to not let the busyness of the holidays keep you from spending time with the Lord and waking up in the mornings and saying his name and calling to him and praying. I know that you might not have an hour to sit down and pray, but the moment you open your eyes, make it so intentional about making your day and starting it with the Lord, and you will see the difference. And this verse is a guarantee that when you wake up and you speak to the Lord, you're not speaking to air or an empty room. You are speaking to him, and he's listening to you and he knows your voice. So make your requests known to him, start your day with the Lord, and you'll see how much better you feel.

00:04:46.990 --> 00:04:57.709
And so let's make that an intentional thing that we do this holiday season. Even in the busy times, we wake up and we speak to the Lord because He loves to hear our voice.

00:04:58.189 --> 00:05:01.389
And so, guys, I hope this encouraged you today. Let's pray.

00:05:01.980 --> 00:05:05.180
Father God, I want to thank youk because youe are so faithful.

00:05:05.819 --> 00:05:42.180
You truly hear our voice when we come and we talk to youo, Lord, you are waiting for us to speak to youo. You want to hear us talk to youo. And so, Lord, I pray that we will make this a priority to get up and talk to youo, to yes, make our request known to youo, Lord, but also to just spend time with youh, to just want to thank youk, to wake up every morning and find thankful words to bless your name and to thank you for because there are so many things we can be grateful for. So Lord, once again we love you and we thank you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

00:05:43.060 --> 00:06:04.069
