Whatever You Do

Whatever You Do

What motivates us to give our best in the everyday rhythms of life? In today’s episode, host Richelle Alessi invites us to reflect on the heart behind our daily work and routines, inspired by Colossians 3:23. As the school year begins and our to-do lists grow, we’ll explore together how we can approach every task—whether big or small—with devotion, intention, and gratitude, doing all things as if for the Lord.

Let’s join together as a community in prayer and devotion, asking God to guide our hearts, fill us with grace, and help us approach each day as a precious opportunity to honor Him.

00:00:00.080 --> 00:00:20.559
You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1336. Today's devot is called Whatever your Do. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:20.800 --> 00:01:07.750
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning, everybody and happy Monday. My name is Rachelle Alessi, and I get to be with you this week. And it's been an eventful weekend. And so today I'm actually recording from my house. If the sound sounds a little bit different, it's because I'm from my house. But I promise, tomorrow I'm actually going to be back in the studio and it's going to sound much, much better. But my son is currently not in the house, so it should be qu. Should be good. We should have an incredible five minutes together hearing the Word of God. So how about we get right into it? I want to read today from Colossians

00:01:07.750 --> 00:01:53.890
23. And it says, whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. You know, as the school year has started again, I don't know whether maybe you have kids in school, maybe you are a teacher, maybe you are a student, a college student, a high school student, and you're listening to this. You know, at our church, we make sure that before the school year starts, we pray for everybody. And it really inspired me to do a little bit of the same and just talk about our rhythms and the things that we have coming up. Once everybody's back to school, it's almost like we feel like the fun and the relaxation is over.

00:01:54.530 --> 00:02:04.939
And I love this verse because it reminds us that whatever we do, we have to do it for the Lord. And it says to work at it with your whole heart.

00:02:05.340 --> 00:02:23.580
Which means there are seasons. There are seasons for us to relax and rest and enjoy our families. There are seasons for us to get back to work, get back to school, get back into our regular rhythm with our families. And that's not a bad thing. It's a good thing. It's something that we get to do.

00:02:23.659 --> 00:02:45.680
And this Bible verse encourages us to do it for the Lord and to do it with a whole heart. Think about this. I know that waking up early and getting into your word and getting prepared for the day, making sure that you're Doing your assignments or if you're a parent, making sure that your kids are ready and get to school early, that their assignments are done.

00:02:46.240 --> 00:03:15.409
They have to be practices and different things and you're balancing all these things and it could get overwhelming. But let this verse encourage you today that everything you do, do it for the Lord and with your whole heart. What you're doing is work. But the Bible says to work at it with a whole heart, which means put your heart into it. Make this new school year with your family the best that has ever been. Find a way to make the drives to school fun with your kids.

00:03:15.729 --> 00:04:16.980
Maybe your drives to college, maybe that's when you, you put this devotional or you you listen to the Bible or you put worship music or you do something that ed find the little pockets of time where you're saying, I am not going to let the work get to me. I'm actually going to let this work encourage me that I can do it with my whole heart for the Lord. And even if it's just a random assignment, the Lord deserves our best in every area. So if, if it's not for yourself, let it be for God and let that be your encouragement and you're going to see that in that the Lord will come, give you the grace, bring the right people along to help you and give you everything you need to have not just a get through year, but an amazing year with your family, with your kids, with your studies. And everything that you have planned is going to be great if you work at it with your whole heart and make sure that you do it for the Lord. So let's pray.

00:04:17.060 --> 00:04:54.339
Dear Father God, I just want to thank you for the things that you allow us to do, the things that we get to look forward to. I pray that today your spirit will surround us everywhere we go. Father, I pray that you will be with us at school, at work, at home, wherever we are working at it. Lord, be with us and give us the grace and the wisdom to approach every day as a gift. Not as something that's exhausting, but as a gift and something that we get to give back to you and that in return our work will be excellent and with a full heart. In Jesus name we pray.

00:04:54.579 --> 00:05:16.980
Amen. So there you have it, your five minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today we pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
