You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1373. Today's Devo is called what Pleases God. Hey there. We're the Alessi's, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.760 --> 00:00:32.490
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning, everybody. Good afternoon.

00:00:32.490 --> 00:01:13.329
Welcome back to My Morning Devo. I hope you've been enjoying the last couple of episodes. And you know how it is, guys. Whenever I host, we go over a couple of minutes. So I apologize if my 7 minute to 8 minute episodes are ruining your morning routine, but I do hope this is blessing you and helping you because, look, I love the topic of faith. In fact, my middle name is faith, so it's kind of cool. So anytime I get to talk about this and get to read about it in the word of God, I just get so empowered because faith is the greatest thing that God has given us. I would say this, this isn't on my notes today, but faith is like the secret weapon of all believers.

00:01:14.129 --> 00:01:35.260
Because for all of the non believers, they are just living by what they see and what's around them. They. They are the. Well, these are the cards that I've dealt people or the cards that I've been dealt people. Non believers have to just look at the life that they have around them and really depend on themselves, the government or the situation that they're in.

00:01:35.659 --> 00:01:58.280
But believers, we have a secret weapon, and that is faith. Because faith causes us to look at every situation in our life differently. When there is a doctor's report, faith steps in and says, okay, I understand what the doctor is saying, but this is what my God says. This is what the Lord says about me. This is what my Father, who has called me and set me apart.

00:01:58.760 --> 00:02:34.240
This is what he says about me. And I'm going to hold on to his report. I'll respect the report of the doctor, but I'm going to hold on to the report of the Lord. Faith steps in and says, you know, I know my son might be a little wayward and he might be rejecting the Lord for a time, but faith says. Faith says he's coming home, he's coming back to his father, and he might need a season where he walks away just so he can learn how to depend on God. It's our secret weapon. And Today, you know, I want to talk about the idea of pleases, or what pleases God.

00:02:34.800 --> 00:02:42.039
I. I ask myself, probably daily, you know, God, how can I please you today? Every Sunday at church, we.

00:02:42.039 --> 00:03:02.080
We give people the opportunity to receive the Lord for the first time or maybe renew in their relationship. Because we think it's powerful that every Sunday we don't miss an opportunity for someone. We don't. We don't have someone that walks in the doors of our church and they walk out without ever having an opportunity to say, jesus, come into our heart.

00:03:02.080 --> 00:03:19.849
But in that prayer, we say, I. I will do my best to live a life that pleases you. And that sounds beautiful, but when it comes to being a believer and when it comes to walking that out, what does that mean? What pleases God? What makes God happy and makes God fulfilled?

00:03:20.330 --> 00:03:23.770
5. This is.

00:03:23.770 --> 00:03:49.900
Hebrews 11 is like the faith hall of fame. They call it the hall of faith, but verse five through six, it says, by faith, Enoch was taken from this life so that he did not experience death. He could not be found because God had taken him away. That's a direct quote from a different book in the Bible in the Old Testament. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.

00:03:50.139 --> 00:04:01.050
And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

00:04:01.930 --> 00:04:04.969
If we're wondering, God, what pleases you?

00:04:05.530 --> 00:05:00.680
5 says it perfectly that faith pleases God. Our faith in him pleases Him. Our confidence in him pleases Him. Our dependence on him pleases Him. Our unwavering belief and knowledge that he will do what he said he will do, that pleases Him. Faith pleases God. So we can't let our fear or our doubt get in the way or replace how we please God. Because if faith pleases him, then I feel like the opposite is true. And no, this isn't a direct quote in the Bible. I didn't find a Bible verse to back this up, but it makes sense in my brain. And so I'm just going to submit this. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But if faith pleases God, then I would say fear doesn't please Him.

00:05:01.560 --> 00:05:04.839
If faith pleases him, then doubt doesn't.

00:05:05.560 --> 00:05:53.870
In our lives, we are called to please our Father, and I want to please Him. So if faith comes into our life, if doubt creeps in, then let this be a reminder today to set that aside, to put it at the feet of Jesus and pick up faith because that is the ultimate way to please God. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Father, I just thank you for today. I thank you Lord that you have given us your word. I thank you that you have given us the secret weapon through your son, Jesus. That is our our faith, God, that we can hold on to it. And I pray that all of us would just lay down our fear, lay down our doubt, lay down the things that we see that so cripples us and entangles us, God.

00:05:54.110 --> 00:06:34.079
And we pick up faith and we believe in you today, Father. If any of us need to renew our relationship, Jesus, with you and renew the faith that we have in you, God, I pray right now that we would take the time to say Jesus, come into our heart. Lord, forgive us of our sin, forgive us of our faith fear. Forgive us if we've doubted in who you are and what you can do. And God, we pick up faith. We're confident in you, we're strong in you, we're dependent on you and we believe in you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
