You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1436. Today's Devo is called what are you believing for? Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning, everybody and happy Monday and welcome to a new year. 2026 is here, and I am Rachelle Alessi, your host for the week. And I am so excited that we are in the second week of January of 2026. And I know on my last week that I did back in December, we talked about ending the year right, really doing what we needed to do to enjoy the holidays and be present. And I am back with a little bit of the same for 2026, but with a little bit of a different take. And these are some things that I've been personally processing myself for this year.
00:01:09.569 --> 00:01:24.370
And as the year starts, I know that we all make resolutions, we all make goals, and that is all healthy and that is all good. And so I want to start today about talking. What are you believing for for 2026?
00:01:24.370 --> 00:01:37.340
I know my husband and I, we are believing for certain things this year, things we want to accomplish, things we are believing the Lord for that we need him for that. We need him to really make ways for.
00:01:37.340 --> 00:02:25.590
And I think it's healthy to write the vision, make it plain, revisit it, and do it with your family. If you're not married, maybe do it on your own time with God, and ask the Lord direction for your life. If you're married, do it with your husband, do it with your kids. Ask people that you trust and or share with the people that you trust what you are believing for so you can have others hold you accountable. But I love this idea, and it was actually inspired from one of my favorite favorite psalms and Psalm 27:13. And it says, I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. Be strong and let your heart take courage. Wait for the Lord.
00:02:25.590 --> 00:02:51.770
What stood out to me is that this verse, it's these verses really, the way it starts is the end is actually the end of the psalm. But I love that it's a declaration. It's not, you know, I'm hoping that I will see good things this year. It literally says, I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Says that I believe it.
00:02:51.770 --> 00:03:09.610
And it triggered me to think, what am I believing for in 2026? What are the things that I want to accomplish? What are the things that I am going to ask the Lord for? Let me write those down, let me dream, let me pursue these things and ask the Lord, is this for me?
00:03:09.610 --> 00:03:13.689
And I encourage you guys, what are you believing for?
00:03:13.689 --> 00:03:35.199
Because the Bible says that we believe that we will look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living, which means we can experience God goodness here on earth. And if you haven't had the time to sit down and reflect and just ask the Lord what is something you're believing for for 2026, I encourage you to do that today.
00:03:35.199 --> 00:03:46.469
Whether you're driving or just going around your house, working on your lunch break, whenever you're listening to this, just pause, ask the Lord, what am I believing for?
00:03:46.469 --> 00:04:45.689
And even you're going to see your spirit, the things that you are believing for that maybe you just haven't said out loud to the Lord. And write it down, write the date, open up your Bible, write this verse down, and you're going to see how good the Lord is and how he starts to open up doors. Bless you, give you more vision, give you the wisdom that you need to accomplish all these things. And as we see his miracles happen in 2026 in the areas of the life of things that you are believing for that nobody knows but the Lord. But write it down, write it down, date it, write this verse and declare every day that you believe that you will see the goodness of God on Earth in 2026. For you, for your family, for your loved ones and the people that are the closest, for you, your friends. We believe that 2026 is going to be a year where we see the goodness of the Lord in these areas that we are believing for. Amen. So let's pray today.
00:04:45.689 --> 00:04:49.129
Dear Father God, we want to thank you for the second week of January.
00:04:49.129 --> 00:05:26.779
Thank you, Lord, for another year of opportunity, another year of blessing, another year of just seeing your goodness play out in our lives. Father, we are privileged to get to experience you the way that we do. And so we pray that this year, Lord, we'll have more vision for what you have for our life, the things that you want us to accomplish, how we can partner with you, Lord, to grow your kingdom and to grow and connect more people to you, Father. So we thank you for everything that you're going to do and all the things that we are believing for. In Jesus name we pray.
00:05:26.779 --> 00:05:49.029
Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
