God is not finished with you—your best days are not behind you.
In this episode of the My Morning Devotional Podcast, Gaby Alessi Calatayud shares “The Gift,” walking through Acts 1:3–5 and the promise Jesus gave His disciples after the resurrection.
After everything they had witnessed—the miracles, the crucifixion, and the resurrection—the disciples could have easily believed they had already experienced the greatest moments of their lives. But Jesus tells them to wait, because something more is coming.
A gift.
Key reflections from this devotional:
God’s work in your life is not limited to past seasons
Waiting is often preparation, not delay
The Holy Spirit is both a promise and a present help
Jesus instructs them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised—the Holy Spirit. This was not something they asked for or anticipated. It was given because God knew they would need it.
This message is especially meaningful for those committed to daily devotionals, morning prayer, and a consistent Bible reading plan, because it reminds us that spiritual growth does not end at salvation—it continues through the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit.
A central truth from this episode:
What feels like an ending may actually be preparation for something greater.
The disciples may have thought the most powerful moments were behind them, yet Scripture shows that after receiving the Holy Spirit, their ministry expanded beyond anything they had previously experienced. They spoke with boldness, performed miracles, and carried the message of Jesus further than before.
Another important takeaway:
God’s gifts are given with purpose.
The Holy Spirit was not just a comfort—it was empowerment. It equipped the disciples for what was ahead, not what was behind.
This devotional invites a personal reflection:
Are you holding onto past seasons as your “best days,” or are you open to what God is still preparing?
Because the same promise remains true today:
God still gives His Spirit.
God still equips His people.
And God still has more ahead.
Even in seasons of waiting, there is purpose. Even when nothing seems to be changing, God is preparing something you may not yet see.
The encouragement from this episode is simple but powerful:
Wait with expectation. Trust with confidence. Move forward with faith.
Because what God has placed ahead of you is not less than what is behind you—it may be greater
Tune in and let's embrace the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives!
