In today’s episode of the My Morning Devotional Podcast, Gaby Alessi Calatayud reflects on Acts 27 and the powerful story of Paul enduring a violent storm at sea.
As Paul journeyed toward Rome, a massive storm overtook the ship he was traveling on. Fear spread among the crew, uncertainty filled the air, and it looked like everything was falling apart.
But in the middle of the chaos, God met Paul with a reminder:
“Do not be afraid.”
What stands out most in this chapter is that God did not remove Paul from the storm — He strengthened him through it.
That message still speaks to us today.
Sometimes we pray for God to instantly calm the storm, while God is actually using the storm to build endurance, faith, wisdom, and dependence on Him.
This episode is a reminder that:
storms do not mean God has abandoned you
delays do not mean God has forgotten you
difficult seasons can still be filled with God’s presence
Even while facing uncertainty, Paul remained calm because he trusted the voice of God more than the chaos around him.
And because of that faith, he became a source of hope and leadership to everyone else on the ship.
If you are walking through a storm right now — emotionally, financially, spiritually, relationally, or physically — let this encourage you:
God still sees you.
God is still guiding you.
And He will give you the strength you need to make it through.
The storm may shape you, but it does not define your future.
God does.
