Fear can feel overwhelming—but it is not meant to define how you live.

In this episode of the My Morning Devotional Podcast, Lauren Alessi shares “From Fear to Boldness,” reflecting on John 20:19–21 and the moment Jesus appears to His disciples after the resurrection.

The disciples were hiding behind locked doors, afraid for their lives. They had just witnessed the crucifixion, and everything in them told them they could be next. Fear had taken over.

Then Jesus entered the room.

Key reflections from this devotional:

Fear loses its power when Jesus is present
Peace is not the absence of trouble—it is the presence of God
Boldness begins when we remember who is with us

Jesus’ first words to them were simple: “Peace be with you.”
And immediately after, He gave them purpose: “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”

This moment marks a complete shift—from hiding to calling, from fear to mission.

This devotional is especially meaningful for those committed to daily devotionals, morning prayer, or a consistent Bible reading plan, because it reminds us that courage is not something we create—it is something we receive when we recognize God is with us.

A central takeaway from this episode:

When you know Jesus is with you, fear no longer gets the final say.

The disciples went from being afraid and hidden to being bold and ready for ministry—all because Jesus showed up and reminded them they were not alone.

Another powerful truth:

The same power that raised Christ from the dead is available to you.

That means the fear you feel does not have to control your decisions, your calling, or your future. When you align your perspective with God’s presence, boldness becomes possible.

If you are facing fear—whether it is fear of stepping out, fear of what others may think, or fear of the unknown—this is your encouragement:

You are not facing it alone.

Because the same Jesus who stepped into that locked room still steps into people’s lives today—bringing peace, replacing fear, and calling them forward with boldness and purpose.

Tune in and let's embrace the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives!
