Waiting can feel like nothing is happening, but some of God’s deepest work happens in the seasons when we’re still waiting for what comes next.
In this episode of the My Morning Devotional Podcast, Gaby Alessi Calatayud shares encouragement from Isaiah 40:31 for anyone experiencing a season of waiting or delay. Scripture promises that those who put their hope in the Lord will have their strength renewed. That renewal doesn’t always mean God removes the waiting. Sometimes, He gives us the strength to remain faithful right in the middle of it.
Gaby reminds us that waiting isn’t necessarily punishment, denial, or wasted time. Just as God used the Israelites’ time in the wilderness to prepare them for the Promised Land, He can use our waiting seasons to develop the character, faith, and spiritual strength we’ll need for what He has prepared.

Place your hope in God while you wait.
Recognize how God is renewing your strength today.
Find contentment and purpose in your current season.
Trust that God is working in you while He works for you.
If you’ve been praying for something that hasn’t happened yet, don’t allow the waiting to convince you that God has forgotten you. He is still faithful, still present, and still at work.
