In this episode of the My Morning Devotional Podcast, Lauren Alessi shares a powerful message from Acts 18:9-10 about having courage in the mission God has called us to.
Paul had been facing opposition, criticism, and persecution while preaching the gospel. In the middle of it all, the Lord spoke to him in a vision and said:
“Do not be afraid. Keep on speaking. Do not be silent, for I am with you.”
What a reminder for all of us.
Sometimes fear makes us silent.
Fear of rejection.
Fear of criticism.
Fear of standing out.
Fear of what others may think.
But this devotional reminds us that courage does not come from having perfect confidence in ourselves. Courage comes from knowing God is with us.
Lauren reflects on how meaningful this moment must have been for Paul. After enduring constant resistance, the Lord personally reminded him:
Keep speaking
Do not stay silent
I am with you
That same encouragement still applies to us today.
Whether it’s sharing your faith with family, standing firm in your workplace, raising your children with biblical values, or simply being bold enough to live differently, God does not call us to live in fear.
If God is for us, who can truly stand against us?
This episode is a reminder that even when the world feels hostile or discouraging, the mission has not changed. We are still called to speak truth, walk in love, and live boldly for Christ.
Lauren also encourages listeners not to underestimate the impact of their voice. Sometimes a simple conversation, invitation, prayer, or act of obedience can change someone’s life forever.
God is still looking for willing people.
People who will not stay silent.
People who will continue speaking even when it feels uncomfortable.
And just like He reminded Paul, He reminds us today:
Do not be afraid.
Keep speaking.
I am with you.
