Two Are Better Than One

Who are the people in your life that lift you up when you need it most? In today’s episode, we’ll explore the theme, "Two Are Better Than One," inspired by Ecclesiastes 4:9–10. Together, we’ll discover the blessings that come from building strong relationships, finding community in the local church, and allowing God to work through the people around us. Our host for the week, Richelle Alessi, shares how her life has been transformed by the supportive relationships she's built in their church community, reminding us that we’re never meant to go through life alone.

My name is Rachelle Alessi, and welcome to another episode of My Morning Devotional Podcast. We are so grateful that you guys tune in and that you're part of our podcast. And I just want to thank you for, for listening, for being a part of what we're doing. There's nothing better than growing together, than listening to the Bible, to reading the Bible and getting to experience that together. And I say that because Today's theme is two are better than one. And that comes from Ecclesiastes 4, 9, 10. And it says two are better than one because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up. Here, our church, at Metro Life Church, our core values are relationship, relationship, relationship.
00:01:31.063 --> 00:02:55.759
And we make sure that we say that every Sunday to our services because we truly believe that. And when I read this verse, it was like, oh, my gosh, this is what we believe. And I want to share this with our podcast because I've seen the fruit of doing life with other people of God, and it's changed my life. And it's truly showed me that a lot of the blessings of God come through other people. God uses other people to bless you. God brings people in your life to guide you, to help you through specific seasons. The Lord wants to bless you through his people. And when I saw this verse, it just made me realize that this could not be more true, that two are better than one. And I remember when I came to this church, I was like 14 years old, and I came in with my siblings and my cousins, and it was such a great experience when we walked in because I immediately felt the love of the people. And even though I had a big family, I found friends, I found mentors, I found leaders that wanted to do life with me and they cared for me. And till this day, I believe that the church. I say this to my husband all the time.
00:02:55.800 --> 00:03:25.307
The church raised me they were, they helped me through all these years. They helped me, they carried me through. And the Lord did it through people. He helped me through people. The Lord has been moments where he's spoken to me directly, but there has been moments where he has used people in my life to help me, to talk to me. As I enter a new season, I always need people that have been, that have already walked through that season because I will always be a beginner in something.
00:03:25.443 --> 00:03:51.318
And I need people that have experience. And what better people than the people and the church that love the Lord, that have the heart of the Lord and want to help you. And so my encouragement today to you is this. Find the right people to do life with, find the right relationships. And honestly, I truly believe that that will come through through the church.
00:03:51.493 --> 00:05:18.509
And if you don't have a local church from wherever you are, Google it. I encourage you, please find a church. Because the biggest blessing in my life has been the church and what the Lord has provided for me through the church and that has been the relationships in my life. I met my husband at the church, I'm now growing my family at the church, my family's at the church. And we do life together. And we could not, I could not be more grateful that this is my life because. Because I know that if there was ever a time of need, I knew the people that are here for me. I know the people that I can draw from. And so I encourage you find the right people to do life with and find a good church. Find a good local church that will be there for you, that can be your safe place. That is the place that you know. This is where I come to find God and to find good people. And so let's pray. Dear Father God, I want to thank you you for giving us to allowing us to do life with other people. I believe that you have placed good people in our lives so we can live the best life as possible. And so I pray today that you will guide your listeners to the right relationships, to the right church, so they can truly experience the fullness of you through relationship. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
