You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1440.

00:00:03.759 --> 00:00:37.609
Today's Devo is called the Joy of the Lord. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Hello everybody and happy Friday. I hope that you're having a wonderful day and I hope and pray that you have a wonderful weekend.

00:00:37.609 --> 00:02:23.389
And I wanted to end today with a verse about joy. And the reason why is because we in the new year set so many goals in so many directions and so many things. And that's important. We need to do that and that will help us. It will give us direction, it will give us a goal, a target. But let's not forget about the joy that we get to experience every single day. Because the Bible says that the joy of the Lord is our strength. And we want to make sure that as we are accomplishing and taking on the world, that we don't forget to truly experience true joy that only comes from the Lord. And the great thing about that is that there are so many verses about joy in the Bible. You can literally just google verses about joy and they will give you a ton of great verses that you can write down that you can read that you can each week pick a different one and remind yourself of joy. Because I actually think joy is such a an important thing for us to experience on our everyday life. And it doesn't have to come from things. Joy can truly come just from you spending time with the Lord, experiencing the great things that he has for you, the your family, your kids, your friends. I challenge you to look for joy in the little parts of your day because I promise you, the Lord will has given you so many ways to experience this joy because he wants you to experience it. He wants your happy, your heart to be happy.

00:02:23.389 --> 00:02:30.509
He wants you to to experience the joy that is contagious, that it strengthens you, that changes your day.

00:02:30.509 --> 00:02:52.949
And you do not have to be an extrovert to experience this kind of joy. Believe me, I am not an extrovert. And I experience joy because of the Lord and what he has given us. And in Psalm 28:7 it says, the Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart trusts in the Lord and I am helped.

00:02:52.949 --> 00:03:22.330
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices and with my song, I will praise Him. Our hearts should rejoice. And I love that this comes from a verse that is talking about the Lord being our strength. My heart trusting in the Lord, knowing that if I trust the Lord, knowing the Lord is my strength and knowing that the Lord is my help brings me joy. It makes my heart rejoice.

00:03:22.330 --> 00:03:53.080
A great way to do this is waking up in the morning and putting worship music while you praise the Lord. This verse ends with and with my song will I praise Him. This joy will trigger you to just praise the Lord because no matter the circumstance, you can have a joy that it basically makes your heart explode into the only response of worship the Lord and thanking him and praising him for how good he is.

00:03:53.080 --> 00:04:38.790
And if you feel like 2025 was not a very joyful year, I challenge you to think that no matter what the circumstance is, you can have a very joyful year in 2026 because you are going to look for all those areas where the Lord is giving you the opportunity to experience this joy. And if you are thinking, well, I don't have anything in my life that's good and joyful, I promise you, open up your word, read about the Lord, see how good God is. And all you're going to want to do is praise Him. Turn on your worship music, Praise God. And that right there, guys, is joy.

00:04:38.790 --> 00:05:58.680
Worshiping the Lord, acknowledging His ways and his amazing gifts to us and the things that he's done for us and us thanking him back. It will encourage and stir that up. And so as you are stepping into this weekend and you're finishing a week, look for those things. And if you think there was nothing, challenge yourself to say, there's no way the Lord is way too good to me for me to think that there was not a joyful area or part of my week or my day that I can in return praise him and thank him for. And if you think there's none still okay, then still praise him. Still. Thank him and you'll see how you'll change your mind really quickly as you challenge your mind and your soul to truly thank the Lord and praise him for how good he is. And in that, you will experience a joy that is so contagious that now you'll start to see the good in God in everything. And that will change your life forever. And if you do this and you find the thing that you're thankful for that brought you joy, that you know it was a gift from the Lord, write it down, share it with us, let us know I would love to read it and let there be an encouragement and we can share it with each other.

00:05:58.680 --> 00:06:17.839
And let this just be contagious that we stir up joy, we bring it, we find it and we thank God for it. Amen. So let's pray. Dear Father God, thank you because you have given us joy and Father, your joy is our strength and our response is to praise you and to thank you Father.

00:06:17.839 --> 00:06:47.319
And so we just want to say right now, Lord, thank you, thank you for your great faithfulness, for your goodness, thank you for a brand new year, thank you for the vision that you are giving us, thank you for the direction that you are giving us and that in the middle of all of this we get to experience true joy and true happiness that only comes from you, Lord. And we'll be happier and healthier people because we get to experience your joy. In Jesus name we pray.

00:06:47.319 --> 00:07:09.800
Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
