How do we make wise decisions with what God has given us?

In today's episode, Stephanie Muiña guides us through a practical reflection on Luke 14:28, inviting us to pause and thoughtfully consider the "cost" of our choices, especially when it comes to finances. Together, we'll explore what it means to honor God by stewarding our resources well, learning how each decision shapes our season of life and deepens our trust in Him as our ultimate provider.

Let’s come together as a community, opening our hearts to God’s wisdom and asking for His guidance in every area, especially our finances. Join us in prayer and devotion as we seek clarity, courage, and faithful stewardship on our journeys.

00:00:00.080 --> 00:00:21.839
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1443. Today's Devo is called Directions Part 3. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.839 --> 00:00:55.119
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Happy Wednesday, everyone. Hope you are enjoying this podcast. If this is bringing you clarity or encouragement, please put in the comments if so, because we want to hear from you. We want to make sure that this is speaking into your life and encouraging you and uplifting you, because that is our goal. We just want to make sure that in these five minutes you are hearing from God. So. So let's dive into it.

00:00:55.359 --> 00:01:06.319
I'm reading from Luke 14:28 in the NIV version and it says, for which of you desiring to build a tower does not first sit down and count the cost?

00:01:06.319 --> 00:01:21.739
Whether he has enough to complete it. Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, this man began to build and was not able to finish.

00:01:21.739 --> 00:01:53.349
Just know I will not mock you and your friends will not mock you. Even though it happens, I can promise I will not mock you. So I hope you all are enjoying and receiving clarity from this series. But today I'm going to go into something a little bit more practical. But I want to set some ground rules first, so I. So I'm just going to say it clearly. And please don't turn me off. Please don't turn me off when you hear this. Please keep me on. Just wait till the end.

00:01:53.349 --> 00:01:56.629
But today I'm going to talk about finances.

00:01:56.629 --> 00:02:23.370
I know. I am completely aware that this is not a show about finances, but please don't turn me off. I do believe that our finances play such a huge part in our lives. Blessings can come through our finances. And I believe as Christians, what the Lord has given us, we have to steward correctly.

00:02:23.370 --> 00:02:27.689
I really believe that the Lord has given me everything that I have.

00:02:27.689 --> 00:02:54.120
Yes, I worked for it. I'm the one going to work. I'm the one clocking in my time. But the Lord is my provider. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. So my home, my money, my cars, my possessions, everything belongs to Him. And if the Lord gave me these things, then I'm going to take care of them as best as I can. Which then brings me to this question.

00:02:54.120 --> 00:03:25.360
If you are deciding which college to go to, which house to buy, what type of wedding you want to have, my encouragement to you would be to first count the cost. A swipe of the credit card. Guys, it's in an instant, but debt can take years to pay off. And again, I'm not going to get into the depths of finances because that's not my profession, nor is that what this diva was about. But I just want to ask you this.

00:03:25.360 --> 00:03:29.280
Are we honoring the Lord with our finances?

00:03:29.280 --> 00:03:44.620
Are we honoring this season by making wise choices with our finances? The Lord can erase every sin. He can redeem every part of our life. But when it comes to our finances, if we make a mistake, those are consequences.

00:03:44.620 --> 00:03:52.379
We just can't simply escape. And as a son or daughter of God, we should be examples of stewardship.

00:03:52.379 --> 00:04:14.689
And you know, there was a point in my house journey, even when I was also planning my wedding, when my husband and I were getting the house ready for the babies to come, where I had to ask if this was wise for us. Am I using my money wisely? Am I stewarding the gift of finances that God has given me in a wise way?

00:04:14.689 --> 00:04:33.790
Is this going to get me into a tight space where I won't even be able to enjoy the luxuries of my life? Or just simply enjoy my life because I had to overspend in an area and I had to say no to a lot of houses that I loved because it was just too expensive for the season.

00:04:33.790 --> 00:04:41.629
Because I also knew that living in a tight season because we're paying off debt was going to chip away at my quality of life.

00:04:41.629 --> 00:05:08.370
I wouldn't be able to enjoy the simple things in life because I wasn't able to afford them. So before you build the tower, count the cost, sit down with somebody who's a professional and ask them questions about this. If you're young and this isn't something that you know about, ask your parents about finances. Ask that person that you trust about finances. How can this affect my life? Because one day you're going to be given a paycheck.

00:05:08.370 --> 00:05:56.129
One day you're going to have a job. And why not spend the time now knowing how to manage money? And you never know. God may come through and give you the finances that you need to pursue a dream that you have. I've seen it happen. But God is going to honor our wisdom and stewardship. If he gave it to us, then it's a gift from Him. And every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord. But those gifts are to be cherished. They're to be protected, they're to be guarded with wisdom. So I pray that this gives you more clarity to find the right direction for your life. I pray that this encourages you. I pray that this only motivates you to talk to the right people about it. And I pray that the Lord will bless you and your finances and keep you today.

00:05:56.129 --> 00:06:07.569
Let's pray. God, we just thank you that you are the one that owns the cattle on a thousand hills. You are our provider, not the world, not anybody above us.

00:06:07.569 --> 00:06:26.370
You provide for us, Jesus. You give us everything we need and do season. So when it comes to making a decision in our life, when it comes to being in the crossroads, we know that your Holy Spirit will reveal to us which is the wise way to go. And sometimes, Father, it's with our finances.

00:06:26.370 --> 00:06:48.649
But we know you can open up every single door and provide for us what we need to move forward. But we do it with wisdom and we do it with guidance from your Holy Spirit. And in Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
