The Breaking

The Breaking

What do we do when it feels like everything around us is standing in the way of our breakthrough? In today’s episode, we journey with host Stephanie Muiña explore the importance of breaking free from limiting mindsets. Drawing inspiration from 2 Kings and a powerful sermon by Pastor Mary Alessi, we’ll uncover why a change in perspective is often the first step to experiencing God’s breakthrough in our lives. Together, we’ll reflect on those thought patterns and habits that may be holding us back, and discover how aligning our minds with God’s truth can transform seasons of waiting into times of growth.

Join our community today as we pray and devote ourselves to God, asking Him to open our eyes, renew our minds, and lead us into the breakthroughs He has in store.

You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1341. Today's Devo is called the Breaking. Hey there. We're the Alessi's a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:20.719 --> 00:01:42.239
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Happy Monday, everyone. It is Stephanie Alessi Munya, and I am so excited to dive into our week of devotionals. I have missed you all. It feels like it's been four weeks, which it has been, but it just feels longer. A lot has happened. Life has been amazing. My family's been amazing, and I pray that you guys have just been blessed by Rochelle, Gabby, and Lauren and all that they've shared with you. But this week, I want to dive into the different things we have to break out of for us to receive a breakthrough. I am actually taking these notes from my mom, Pastor Mary Alessi. She is the pastor along with my dad here at our church, Metro Life Church. So I'm creating devotionals out of her sermon that she preached two weeks ago here on a Sunday morning that is just so powerful. And if you would like to watch it, it's on our Metro Life Church's YouTube page. So go check it out. It'll encourage you. But today I'm reading from Second Kings, 6, 15, 17, and it says, when the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city.

00:01:42.719 --> 00:03:49.060
Oh no, my Lord, what shall we do? The servant asked. Don't be afraid, the prophet answered, those who are with us are more than those who are with them. And Elisha, the prophet prayed, open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see. Then the Lord opened the servant's eyes and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around. Elisha, let me set the scene. These are two men, the prophet Elijah and his servant. The servant is so afraid because he sees an army surrounding them. And Elisha prays. He does not pray, Lord, send an army from heaven to demolish our enemies. He does not pray. Give me the strength to go and fight these people. His prayer is, open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see, you know, they're in need of a breakthrough at that moment. And instead of them demanding God to bring the breakthrough, they ask the Lord to open up their eyes so they can see the different variations of a breakthrough, that maybe there's a part of your breakthrough right now that needs to be rearranged. Maybe your perspective needs to change. Maybe the way that we're speaking need to change. Something needs to happen before we get our breakthrough. You know, breakthrough requires a breaking. And I want to talk today about how we need to break off the wrong mindset. Are you maybe too negative or pessimistic? Do you maybe pity yourself a little too much? Are you maybe an anxious thinker? You get fearful, you become doubtful, you become worrisome? Now, maybe, are you distracted too much? Do you become too distracted and you're not focused on what the Lord's trying to do in you? You know, your mindset before you receive that breakthrough needs to be aligned with the word of God and his spirit.

00:03:49.780 --> 00:04:20.189
Today, ask the Lord, Open up my eyes so that I may see. And if there is a thought pattern, if there is a mindset, if there is a habit within my mind that I need to break off, then break it off today. Show it to me today. Is it. Am I too discouraging? Am I too negative? Is there something in my own brain stopping me from getting that breakthrough right now? Guys, I'm looking for a home in Miami, Florida.

00:04:20.189 --> 00:04:27.269
It's literally trying to find a needle in a haystack, and we have not found one. We've been looking for eight months, and there hasn't been anything to really appear.

00:04:27.889 --> 00:04:38.769
And we've put four different offers on a home, and we've been beat out every single time. So I'm in need of a breakthrough. But the one thing that I will not allow to happen is my mind to grow weary.

00:04:39.170 --> 00:04:42.769
I know that I'm going to stay positive. I'm going to stay faithful.

00:04:43.009 --> 00:05:31.319
And I've allowed the Lord to step in and show me certain mindsets that I've had that were wrong. One of them was my dreams weren't big enough, my vision wasn't big enough, and I needed the Lord to show that to me. And this waiting has allowed me to break off that mindset so that I can have my breakthrough. So maybe that's the challenge for you today. A mindset has to be broken off so that you can finally see your breakthrough. Let's pray. God, we just thank you that you have us in this season of holding. You have us in this season of waiting. Because maybe you are using this season to show us how a mindset, we have to break off right now. We align our thoughts with your word. Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is righteous, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely.

00:05:31.480 --> 00:06:06.689
Admirable. Think on these things. That is where our mindset will be God so that our mindset will be aligned with your thoughts so that we can receive our breakthrough. And in Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend, leave a comment or review for us on the app you're using right now. Until tomorrow. We pray that your latte is strong, but your love for Jesus is stronger.
