Submit To A Season

Submit To A Season

What does it look like to truly surrender your plans to God, even when the waiting feels never-ending? In today's episode, hosts Gaby and Mary Alessi invite us into a heartfelt conversation about "Submit to a Season." As we dive into the first step of their new devotional acronym—surrender—we’ll explore how letting go of our timelines and desires can actually fast-track us to God’s perfect plan. Together, we’ll learn the power of surrendering everything, trusting that no matter the season of delay or uncertainty, God is faithful to fulfill His promises.

Join our community today as we commit our hearts to prayer and devotion, asking God to help us embrace surrender and trust Him fully with every part of our journey.

00:00:00.080 --> 00:00:14.480
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1291. Today's Devo is called Submit to a Season. Hey there. We're the Aleskies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida.

00:00:14.560 --> 00:00:29.489
And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast.

00:00:30.449 --> 00:00:34.289
Well, good morning, everybody. This is Gabby Lessi, your host for the week.

00:00:34.289 --> 00:01:03.070
And I've got a very special guest on the podcast this week, my mom. It's good to be here, Gabby. Say hi to everybody. Hello, everybody. We're so glad that you are listening, and we hope that this week really encourages you in the area of submitting to a season that you might not want to surrender to. Yes. All right, so backstory, and here's the plan for the week. So a couple days ago, we were sitting down having coffee, and coffee turned into a two hour conversation on the topic of submission.

00:01:03.950 --> 00:01:32.170
And as we're talking about submission, you started to create an acronym on the word submit. Yes. And started to put different words and almost break down what it means to submit. And as we're talking, we're thinking, oh, my God, we need to do this on the podcast. That's right. This would be such a blessing. So I cheated. I brought my mom on here today, and the girls are gonna be mad at me, but it's okay because I think this is a incredible topic that's going to bless those that are listening. So, mom, jump into it.

00:01:32.569 --> 00:02:03.810
Every day this week we're going to break down the word submit. Yeah. And we have a bonus word. I was going to say we have a bonus episode because there's six letters in the word submit. So take us into number one. S. What are we talking about? S is for surrender. If we're going to submit. And we hope this helps you remember when you're going through a tough season through this simple acronym of how to pray. Pray this acronym because God will ask you to go through a season at some point in your life where you have to surrender all of your plans.

00:02:04.129 --> 00:02:23.270
3 already lays it out for us. God already asks us in this verse. He says, commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. This verse highlights the promise that comes with surrender. If we'll surrender all our plans to God, then he will establish our plans.

00:02:23.270 --> 00:02:26.789
And he keeps his promises, Gabby. He Does God keeps His promise?

00:02:26.870 --> 00:02:30.469
He does. And he answers the call of the righteous.

00:02:30.870 --> 00:02:41.750
So when we surrender all of our plans, when we commit them to the Lord, we follow this verse, we then give it over to him and now it's in his lap. Exactly. And here's the beautiful part. He's already got a plan.

00:02:41.750 --> 00:02:48.889
Yeah. So surrendering, submitting to a season of delay, of waiting. You know, we said, submitting to what?

00:02:49.050 --> 00:02:52.409
Well, we're going to talk about what as we go throughout this week.

00:02:52.810 --> 00:04:45.560
But there are so many things that in our lives God might require of us to go through a season of delay where we're waiting on a baby, waiting on a spouse, waiting on a job, waiting on those finances to come through, waiting on that new house. And I really believe that the gift of delay, when we have to learn this and develop the spiritual muscle, God loves us the most if he'll allow us to go through this, walk us through a season where we have to surrender all of our plans to God, commit it all to the Lord, we get more than just the outcome. We develop spiritual muscles that we would otherwise not develop. That's so good. And he loves us so much that he says, I'm going to put you through a season where it's for a reason, but you're going to have to submit to it. You're going to have to wait on me, but I'm going to help you through it. I'm going to come alongside you. You will not be alone in the journey. And I will give you an experience that at the end of the season, when the seasons end. Because remember, Gabby, seasons end. Yes, it's true. Harvests come. Amen. And they can end in a 24 hour period. It's true. You can be waiting on a man or a husband or a wife or a baby and boom, all you got to do is meet that person or take the pregnancy test. Yeah, it's so true. Or suddenly the person takes your contract, you're offering the house. Exactly. The house opens up. And I love that you mentioned this because one of the reasons why we, we were talking about submission was I felt like the Lord told me one day, submission is the fast track to the desires that the Lord has for you. Exactly. Submission, True submission, not God, I submit to you. All right, Lord, I'm giving it. No, true submission is when God goes, all right, I'm going to take your situation. And it's almost like he fast tracks it. And you get to the harvest, you get to the blessing, the thing you were praying for. And you look back and you go, I waited. Yeah, I had to wait.

00:04:46.040 --> 00:04:49.879
But you said it, which that conversation brought up the acronym.

00:04:50.120 --> 00:05:13.100
And you said, how do we explain submission? And you said, it starts with surrender. Because you have to get to a place where you go, God, even if I never see that day, even if that spouse never walks in the door, even if I never have a baby, even if the house is never mine, God, I still surrender. Gabby, you are my fourth and final child.

00:05:13.339 --> 00:05:16.459
You were my baby. You and Lauren both were surprises.

00:05:17.100 --> 00:05:35.699
And we weren't sure that we would have children at all. And I remember the moment I had to do exactly what this acronym. It's. Where it's come from is 30 years ago, having to pray this prayer, going through a season of infertility and saying, lord, even if I never have a baby, and hardest prayer to ever pray, hardest thing to lay down.

00:05:35.699 --> 00:05:39.329
Because I thought if I say it, I mean, it's. No.

00:05:39.490 --> 00:06:51.470
I didn't understand God. In a way, he wanted me to understand him. I didn't know him as the God who comes through on every promise, and he wanted to show me that. Four kids later. Yeah, but don't get to understanding because that comes tomorrow. That comes tomorrow. So step one, the you, the you, step one of the week, or when it comes to submission, is surrender. And so let's pray him out, because we did it. We did a shorter version of that. We tried. If these episodes go long, we apologize for. But if you can pray for everybody listening for a true surrender that they can truly surrender to the Lord, the things they want, the things that they're praying for, let's pray us out with that. Lord, I just. First of all, thank you for every person that's listening, because it's never a coincidence when godly people who want to seek you tune in, searching for you. You have the answer for them. You speak whether they're in their car or whether they're in their office or whether they're at the gym or whatever they're starting their day doing. Taking this time with you, Lord. I know that you honor them for that and you're going to do that through helping them have a revelation of surrendering right now. Your word says to be still and know that you are God, you are faithful in all your promises. They can do it.

00:06:51.470 --> 00:07:17.319
They can surrender all their plans to you, and you will direct their paths and. And we thank you for it. In Jesus name, amen and amen. Amen. So there you have it, your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
