Speaker:

You're listening to the My Morning devotional podcast, episode 1551. This devo is called Strength and Dignity. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Hello, everyone, my name is now Lauren Burgos, and you're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast and I am your host for this week and update. Got married over the month of April, so actually you haven't seen me. I've been here. I got married literally the next couple days after Rochelle had a baby. And. And God has just been so, so good. So it is good to be back. Although we recorded our episodes ahead of time, it is good to be back in the recording studio and just to be with you guys again because it feels like it's been a moment since I got to record this podcast and be with the audience now as Lauren Burgos. It's kind of crazy to say that. Oh my gosh, it was a blast. It was a great day. Uh, me and my husband Daniel are like both kind of introverted and we were terrified of what a big wedding would look like and God just carried us on a cloud the whole day. We truly had a blast. And yeah, God is just awesome. I have the best family, the best friends, and God is good. But today we are talking about Proverbs, specifically Proverbs 31. Why are we talking about Proverbs 31? Because as I've been married, I've learning a lot about myself and a lot about like, okay, what does it take to be a wife? A lot of examples in of that in the Bible, but the greatest example is found in Proverbs 31. And since this whole month we are revisiting a bit of going into the book of Proverbs and diving into wisdom, because you always find something new each time. I wanted to Talk on Proverbs 31, I also want to say that just because this one this week is talking about Proverbs 31 and specifically how I'm gleaning on it from a newly married perspective, this does not have to stick to just women. This is the word of God, so it's applicable to us all. And I'm gonna do my best to make it applicable to everybody. That's a weird word. To say. But anyways, let's dive right in. The verse of the day is Proverbs 31:25 and it says this. She is clothed with strength and dignity. She can laugh at the days to come. And this is why I wanted to read out of Proverbs 31 because simply life places pressure on all of us. The pressure to succeed, the pressure to have the perfect house, the perfect family, the perfect group of friends. To be pressured, to be emotionally strong. Pressure to hold everything together and not let anything slip through the cracks. But I think biblical strength looks completely different than worldly strength because here it's showing that she can laugh at the days to come because the days to come aren't what put pressure on her. The future isn't what brings her stress and anxiety and worry because godly strength and dignity is placing it all in God's hands. The world tells us that strength means that you're never lacking, you're never struggling. That is strength and that comes from the world. But Scripture shows us that true strength comes from trusting God in the middle of uncertainty, in the middle of I don't know what it looks like, I have no idea what it sounds like, I have no idea what when it's coming. But I know God has it in control. Clothed with strength and dignity means their identity is not built on performance or appearance or achievement or approval, but their security comes from knowing who they are. And dignity also means to refuse to live controlled by panic, comparison or striving. So I just want to put this on you. If you feel pressure, if you feel the pressure to succeed or the pressure to provide or the pressure to have everything perfect, the pressure to have the perfect looking family, pressure from all around. Remember that truth, strength and dignity looks like laughing at the days to come looks like saying I have no idea what my future career is going to look like. I have no idea what my dream job looks like. I have no idea if I'm going to get married that God knows. And I know that I don't really need to put too much stress and too much worry in it because I know that God has my dreams and desires in his hands and that walking that out practically looks like not staying in the worry too long and just saying I'm not going to get stressed about it. I'm going to go live my best life now and I can trust him because He's a good God and I'm a living testament to that. He is a good, faithful God. Let's pray. Dear Lord, we thank you so much that you are a good faithful God because that means we could put our trust on you, which means that we can laugh at the days to come. Lord, I pray that you relieve them for every person listening to this that really struggles putting their trust in you and really struggles with worry or stress or anxiety or is in a situation that they're just struggling with worry, stress and anxiety because they don't know what is to come. And may we all learn to laugh at the days to come. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
