Standing Blameless

Standing Blameless

What does it mean to stand blameless and truly innocent before God? In today's episode, host Lauren Alessi invites us to explore the transformative idea of innocence—not just as something we strive for, but as a gift we're given through Christ. Together, we'll reflect on Colossians 1:22 and uncover how, because of Jesus' sacrifice, we can be seen as holy, without blemish, and free from accusation. Together, we'll reflect on Colossians 1:22 and uncover how, because of Jesus' sacrifice, we can be seen as holy, without blemish, and free from accusation. We'll also discuss what it looks like to surrender our past—whether we've made mistakes or experienced hurt—and allow God to restore and renew us from the inside out.

You are listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1369. Today's episode is called Standing Blameless. Hey there. We're the Alessi's a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.920 --> 00:01:32.340
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Hello, everyone, my name is Lauren Alessi and I am your host for this week. We've talked a little bit about wisdom. Now we're talking about innocence and being made innocent in Christ. And if you missed yesterday's episode, I really was inspired by a song that my sister wrote and she put out. I just had the pleasure of singing it, but it's a beautiful song, but it really just. It talks about being made innocent in Christ and being made clean by the blood of the lamb. And again, I feel like the concept of God's grace, of what Jesus did on the cross is talked about a lot, but the word innocent, I feel like, like that's not mentioned enough. And when I think of innocence, I think of a childlike innocence. So I wanted to dive into the Word and really see what the Word had to say about that and apply that to the topic of innocence. And I just wanted to share what I'm learning, not just about, you know, trying to preach to you, but just share about what I'm learning about the topic of innocence and what the Word of God has to say about that. So yesterday we preached out of

00:01:32.340 --> 00:01:43.620
9 and about talking about how when we present our sins and our failures to Christ, he cleanses us, he makes us whole, he makes us new again. Today we're going to be speaking out of

00:01:43.620 --> 00:01:46.459
22, and it says this.

00:01:47.349 --> 00:01:57.829
But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death, to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.

00:01:59.189 --> 00:03:16.060
But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death, to present you wholly in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation. What I love about verses like this is it almost explains what's happening in the natural on the cross and what's also happening in the spiritual on the cross as, like a formula. Like, they're getting so scientific about it. And I love it because maybe you think like me and you're like, I just want to know what was the importance of what happened on the cross, more than just. Yes, Jesus died for our sins, but what was happening the deepest part of the spiritual world, the deepest part of the physical world, what was happening in that moment when Jesus took our sins and went to the cross? And here in Colossians it says this, but now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body, through Christ's physical body, you have been reconciled with Christ through death to present you holy in his sight. So because of Christ's physical body and him dying on the cross through his physical body, you've been reconciled with Christ because he died physically on the cross to present you with holy in his sight. And this means your presentation, holy in his sight will be presented without blemish and free from accusation.

00:03:16.780 --> 00:03:54.389
So when we look at this through the concept of innocence, when we submit ourselves to God, when we submit our sins to God because of the work on the cross and our submission of our sins and our guilt, God looks at us as holy in his sight without blemish and free from accusation. And I just want to say again, a lot of innocence. Maybe it was done to you. Maybe you necessarily didn't do anything. Maybe you did do something, or maybe it was done to you. Whatever it looks like in that moment where you felt like my innocence was taken from me, whatever that feels like.

00:03:55.349 --> 00:04:53.850
When we submit that moment, when we submit that time in our lives to God, God, and we ask for forgiveness, and we ask for God to come into our lives, into our hearts, into our minds, what the Bible's telling us is that after that submission unto God and after that confession unto God, he cleanses us. And because of the work on the cross, he views us as holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation. And at another point in the Bible, it even says, he separates our sins as far as the east, east is from the west. He doesn't keep looking at us through the lens of sin. He looks at us in a holy manner without blemish and free from accusation because of Jesus. We have to get this, guys. Because of Jesus's work on the cross, God no longer sees our guilt. God no longer sees our sin. So let us just submit ourselves to the work that Jesus did on the cross and let God come in and cleanse us. Let God. God come in and view us as holy in his sight.

00:04:54.569 --> 00:05:34.220
Let's pray. Dear Lord, when we feel like we've messed up, God, when we feel like we've sinned, or when we feel like sin has been done to us, God, and we don't necessarily know how to handle it. God help us to submit that unto you. God help us to ask for forgiveness, help us to ask for for wisdom, for guidance Lord help us to submit that sin to you. God help us to submit that part of our lives to to you God and Lord, we just pray that as we submit that to you Lord whatever it is that you come in and you cleanse us Lord you purify us God you make us innocent again Lord so that you can view us as holy in your sight without blemish or any accusation. In Jesus name we pray.

00:05:34.379 --> 00:05:56.939
