So Wrong, But So Right
Why do seasons of waiting or unexpected detours often feel so wrong, even when we know we're following God's plan? In today's episode, host Stephanie Muiña invites us into her personal journey of house renovations and life's setbacks, sharing the wisdom she's gaining along the way. Together, we'll explore how God's timing can seem uncertain from our limited perspective, even as He is orchestrating every detail perfectly behind the scenes. Drawing from Proverbs 3:5-6, we'll reflect on what it means to trust in the Lord fully, leaning not on our own understanding. Even when things look messy, delayed, or "wrong" by our standards.
Let’s join as a community in prayer and devotion, trusting that God’s path for us is always right, even in seasons of uncertainty.

You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1423. Today's Devo is called so wrong, but so right. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:21.120 --> 00:01:19.500
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning, everybody. Hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday. This is gonna be a great week. As we continue on in our podcast, I'm just talking about stuff that's going on in my life and what I am learning. So let's dive into it. Today I'm reading from Proverbs 3, 5 through 6, and it says, trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths. I'm reading from the ESV version. So, as you know, my husband and I, we are building our house and we just met with our kitchen guy, the guy that's going to build our kitchen. And this is the part of the process that I cannot stand in construction and in renovations, because it's dust everywhere. It's a dust party.
00:01:19.930 --> 00:01:30.090
The walls have been knocked down. Nothing is. We put, did put up another wall, but we have so much work to do before it starts feeling like a home.
00:01:30.890 --> 00:01:56.359
And when I meet with these different contractors who are going to come in and help us build our kitchen, who's going to help us put the lights in, who's going to help us build another wall, whatever it is, they are so excited and they are just so sure about what they're going to build. But I'm over here thinking, I get excited with my meeting with them, but the second they leave, I'm still left with a dirty, dusty construction site.
00:01:57.079 --> 00:02:56.990
And that person, they see the plans, but I only see the dust. And we have to keep working on these small menial tasks that are taking forever. And I think that we're taking too long to build the house. My husband, it's so cool to see him. He knows construction so well and it's so cool to watch him work at this because I'm now learning there are these small menial tasks like running the electricity lines up to your lighting fixtures or whatever it is, and that task takes forever. It could take two days, but it's what lights up your house. So these small Menial tasks, I think, are causing us to drag this out too long are actually exactly the right step to take. Because the guy that's building my kitchen, the guy that's installing my lights, knows that we are right on time. When I'm looking at what's around me now, I see it as something wrong.
00:02:57.550 --> 00:03:07.710
It's taking too long, it's too messy. But the construction worker, but the contractor, the builder knows that this is just right.
00:03:08.759 --> 00:03:19.560
You know, it's just like life. When we see little setbacks, we look around and we see that something is wrong. But God is looking at the full story.
00:03:19.879 --> 00:03:34.759
He knows the beginning from the end. He knows the end from the beginning. And he knows that where I'm at right now is right. I was talking to my friend who's in her 30s, and she's not married yet. Okay? She's not married yet.
00:03:34.759 --> 00:03:49.819
She will be married. I'm believing that and declaring it. And she sees it all as something wrong. I know God will bring someone for her, but honestly, I know exactly what she's feeling. God, where is her spouse? She's done the dating apps.
00:03:49.819 --> 00:03:53.379
She's gone traveling. She's gone to churches. She's gone to conferences.
00:03:53.860 --> 00:04:04.979
Where is her husband? And I want to say, God, something is wrong. But God, the one who knows the plan, is saying, no, this is right.
00:04:05.620 --> 00:04:27.620
You know, even me, I wish I didn't miscarry. I wish I didn't have to go through that. It set me back and my timeline and I was ready to have another baby. And I don't really know when I'm gonna get pregnant again. And it feels like it's all wrong. But God knows how many children I'm gonna have. He knows their names. He knows their destinies. And he says this is his plan.
00:04:28.180 --> 00:04:34.980
This is all according to his plan plan. Because he knows everything. He knows how this is going to end.
00:04:35.860 --> 00:06:21.620
So even though I may look around and it seems wrong, God is looking up from heaven. He's looking at the plan, and he says that this is all right. So even when it hurts, even when it's confusing, even when it's not going the way that I want it, God's plan is still at work in your life. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. And in all your ways, meaning the way you talk, the way you think, the way you act, the way you give, the way you work, acknowledge him and he will make straight your path. Your paths. He won't place a desire in your heart that he will leave unfulfilled. I. I believe that wholeheartedly. I'm not hoping that it's gonna happen for you. I'm not hoping that it's gonna happen in my life. I am walking into his plan and his will, in his timing, in his ways. He's gonna answer your prayers. He's gonna answer it the way he wants to answer it. But it will happen. So for now, I rest in his trust and I rest in his peace. And I lean on his understanding. Let's pray. God, we thank you for this life you're giving us. Even on the hard days, we stand and we declare. We will trust in the Lord with all of our heart. And we will lean not on my own understanding, but I will acknowledge you in all of my ways. So, Father, make my paths straight. We trust you. You place this desire in our hearts for a reason. And we know that in due time, in your timing, in your power, not by our might, but by your spirit, you will answer our prayers.
00:06:21.939 --> 00:06:29.699
So we lean on you and we walk in your will, knowing you will answer our prayers. And in Jesus name, we pray.
00:06:29.778 --> 00:06:52.930
Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
