How do we find hope and perspective when life changes and transitions come our way? Drawing inspiration from Ecclesiastes 3, we’ll explore together how every season has a purpose, why embracing change can bring beauty, and how God's promises remain steady through life's ups and downs.

Let’s gather as a community to lift each other up in prayer and devotion, trusting God to guide us through every season—finding peace, strength, and gratitude right where we are.

00:00:00.160 --> 00:00:06.959
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1411. Today's Devo is called Seasons Change.

00:00:08.080 --> 00:00:56.359
Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Well, happy December, everybody. We are officially in a new month. This is Gabby Alessi Koladi, your host of the My Morning Devotional podcast for this new month of December. And wow, what an exciting Thanksgiving it was. We hope you guys all enjoyed your vacation and the holiday with your family. We hope that it just brought you so many blessings and so much encouragement and that we are all leaving Thanksgiving grateful. At least that's what we hope.

00:00:56.359 --> 00:01:14.359
We also know on the other side, you're probably a little bit more stressed from Thanksgiving. You're getting the kids back into school. You're on your way, probably with terrible school traffic right now because everybody just gets hectic during the holidays. So we're praying for you. So maybe if your holiday did not go as planned, we still know God is in control and God is still good.

00:01:14.359 --> 00:01:25.409
And we hope you enjoyed your holiday to the fullest. Now we're jumping into a new month and we're jumping from one season to the next. We're going from fall to winter.

00:01:26.209 --> 00:01:29.209
And what's interesting is I love this verse in Ecclesiastes

00:01:29.209 --> 00:02:15.169
8. I'm going to read it for you. It's a little bit long, but this is the NIV translation. It says this. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, A time to kill and a time to heal, A time to tear down and a time to build, A time to weep and a time to laugh, A time to mourn and a time to dance, A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather them, A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, A time to search and a time to give up, A time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, A time to be silent and a time to speak, A time to love and a time to hate, A time for war and a time for peace.

00:02:15.729 --> 00:02:52.270
We are in a season right now as we are Changing from fall to winter. And I just think this verse really does give us perspective on our lives, that there is a time and a place for everything that we're going through. There's a time to celebrate, and there is a time to mourn. There's a time to dance, but then there's a time to. To grieve. There's a time to. To laugh and to have fun with your family, while there's other times to not. You know, there's times that you sow and you're in a sowing season, but then you're in a season of harvest.

00:02:52.990 --> 00:03:14.039
This verse gives us perspective on life because life is truly filled with ups and downs. You know, maybe some of us, you just came back from the holiday, and the holiday was a high, but now you're back at work. Maybe some of us, the holiday was so exciting, but now you're back into the rhythm of dropping off your kids and having to now go into Christmas shopping, which I cannot believe we're already Christmas shopping.

00:03:15.000 --> 00:03:43.180
Life is full of highs and lows. You could be on the other end of that, where maybe the holiday was your low. Now every family is different. Every situation is different. So you might be in a season that does feel like a time to mourn, a time to grieve. But I think this verse gives us a promise that there is a day and another time where you will laugh and he will dance again. You know, right now, my husband and I, we've been married for almost two months now. I believe it's almost two months now.

00:03:43.740 --> 00:03:51.340
And we are in a big transition because we got married, which I. Help me out, give me advice, all you love, all you married people.

00:03:51.659 --> 00:04:09.669
I feel like marriage is probably the biggest transition of your life. And then kids, but I don't know. I don't have children, so give me some feedback. But we're in the transition of marriage. The season has changed. Where we were single, and now we're together and we're married. But then we're also in the transition of our house and moving into our house.

00:04:10.469 --> 00:04:21.470
And we were in such a high from our wedding, and it was just like the greatest day of our lives. We want to live it all over again. And we loved it. And. Oh, my gosh. My gosh. And then we got home, and then it was like the first mortgage came, and then the first real bill came.

00:04:21.470 --> 00:04:25.149
And then, like, we put our finances together and we're realizing what life is like.

00:04:25.149 --> 00:04:41.439
And then now we have to manage our. Okay, which family are we going to for the holidays and what's all gonna happen. And so we experienced the. The high of getting married, but also now the. I don't wanna call it a low, but it is the reality of what you're stepping into.

00:04:41.839 --> 00:04:49.120
And it's a beautiful reality, but it does come with somewhat of managing your emotions and balancing your emotions.

00:04:49.680 --> 00:05:57.899
And for me, this verse encourages me because it does give us that perspective of life isn't always a high. You know, we always want that harvest, but not every season is a harvest season. We always want to be dancing and laughing and celebrating, but not every season is a celebration. There are some seasons that you are low, your emotions are low. Maybe your. Your health is in the place that you don't want it to be. Maybe your relationships aren't in a place that you want it to be. Maybe you've lost a loved one, maybe you've lost a relationship. Maybe you lost your job. You're going through a lot, and the holidays just tend to bring all of that back up. If you're in a time to mourn, I want to remind you today that there is a time to dance on the way. But it's just a season for my husband and I, we look at each other and we go, this is just a season. And you know what? When you realize it's just a season, it makes it that much more beautiful. Right now, if you were to go to our house, you would see our mattresses on the floor. Yes. Our mattress. And our headboard has not been built yet. We're gonna get to that. But you know what?

00:05:57.899 --> 00:06:25.949
It's just a season. I have no mirror in my bathroom, which I think is a good thing. I have no mirror in my bathroom. But you know what? It's just a season. We might not have the finances that. That we want to have to get all the Christmas gifts. But you know what? It's just a season. And when you look at your life as it's just a season, it makes the season you're in right now so special. So there's a time for everything. There's a season for every activity. Enjoy it while you're in it.

00:06:26.430 --> 00:07:38.329
Lord, thank you for seasons. Thank you, God, that you own time. You created time. And Lord, even maybe right now we're in a place that we don't love where we're at. We don't love the way that we feel, feel. We don't love maybe the holidays that have come and. And how we're celebrating this year. Or maybe the finance, the family dynamics are different. Lord, we're just grateful that there is a better time coming because you always promise us that that there's a season of low, but there is a season of high. And we just are grateful that we can trust you because you did create this season and you do create time, God and that it's all in the palm of your hand. And I pray that you would give us the strength, the endurance, the ability to celebrate, but also the ability to mourn and grieve as we experience the highs and lows of life. God, we praise you and we thank you for it all. In Jesus name, amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend, leave a comment or review for us on the app you're using right now.

00:07:38.490 --> 00:07:43.449
