Redemption Through Jesus

Redemption Through Jesus

What does it mean to be truly grateful for redemption? In today’s episode, Richelle Alessi invites us to reflect on the gift of redemption through Jesus—reminding us that forgiveness isn’t just a distant hope, but a present reality available to us every day. Together, we’ll explore Ephesians 1:7, the richness of God’s grace, and how we can live each day with a spirit of gratitude for the forgiveness and renewal offered by Christ.

Join our community in prayer and devotion as we celebrate this life-changing grace and learn how to embrace thankfulness for God’s redemptive love.

You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1397. Today's Devo is called Redemption Through Jesus. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.440 --> 00:00:32.130
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Tuesday.

00:00:32.210 --> 00:00:50.210
Welcome back to another episode of My Morning Devo. And my name is Rachelle Alessi and I am with you this week. And like I mentioned yesterday, our theme this week is just being grateful for what God has done. We're gonna go and look through different things that the Lord has done for us.

00:00:50.289 --> 00:01:05.299
Yesterday we talked about creation itself, how God created the beautiful heavens and the earth and how even those things reflect his glory. And we're thankful for that. And today we're going to talk about the redemption through Jesus.

00:01:05.859 --> 00:01:31.689
And I believe that this is the message of every Christian, no matter where you are at, because we are here today because of the redemption of Jesus. And so we are going to go into that. But yesterday I told you what I was grateful for. Today I want to give you something else that I am grateful for. And then you guys let us know what you are grateful for today. And let's keep this theme of just gratefulness flowing in our My Morning Devo community.

00:01:31.930 --> 00:02:25.069
And let's just make our dates brighter and change your days by being grateful. And today I am very grateful for a group of people that I love very much and that is my parents in law because my mother in law Mary and my father in law Steve, the pastors of this church, metrolife Church, because they are the best in the world. They are such a gift to me. They love our family. They are so generous, they're so kind. They've been such amazing in laws. They really are my parents. I love them. I love them so, so much. And I'm grateful for them today and for everything that they've done for us. But for who they are, the example that they set in in our lives and just the people that they are. It's a gift to me and so I'm grateful for them today. Let's get right into our podcast and let's talk about the redemption through Jesus.

00:02:25.150 --> 00:02:39.870
7 and it says in him we have redemption through his blood. The Forgiveness of sins in accordance with the riches of God's grace.

00:02:40.990 --> 00:03:26.689
I love this verse because it's really showing us the essence of gratitude for our salvation, that it comes through the priceless blood of Jesus, that because of what Jesus did On the cross 2,000 plus years ago, you and I get to be forgiven today. We don't have to live in shame. We don't have to live in bondage. We don't have to live our lives feeling guilty because Jesus paid it all with his precious blood and we get to be forgiven. And the beautiful thing is, not only do we get to be forgiven, but then we also get to be redeemed. And the Lord doesn't stop, I forgive you.

00:03:26.930 --> 00:04:27.430
The Lord says, I forgive you. And now let's redeem everything. Let's make you new, let's make you clean, let's build a better life. And that alone, we as Christians need to be so grateful for and not take for granted the fact that Jesus forgives our sins, that he wants to forgive our sins, and that he wants to redeem us. I know a lot of us listening today could say that we have fallen short many times and that there is many times in our lives where we have not done things right, but the Lord has forgiven us. But let's not forget how great God is in those moments and how grateful we should be for God and for his blood and for his redemptive power and for his forgiveness in our lives. And that is why we get to live the lives that we live. And, you know, I'm not like my husband who has all these theological stories.

00:04:27.430 --> 00:05:34.230
Correct. So forgive me if I'm. I mentioned something a little bit out of line, but I was watching House of David the other day, a show about King David, and they start to show you what the Israelites used to do, you know, the atonement of their sins. They would walk to the temple this once a year and they had the scapegoat, and there was a whole thing. And that's how they really represented and physically did the actual of going and getting their sins forgiven and all of that. And I encourage you to look more into it. I'm not a pro at it, but I'm looking at this episode and I'm thinking people had to live their homes and walk miles and miles away to be part of this event, to then start clean another year. And I'm sitting there looking at that, and now I am in my house and I'm thinking, if I needed forgiveness, it could happen right now. And I wouldn't have to walk miles and miles away and wait for one important date in the year to start over.

00:05:35.029 --> 00:05:49.189
And sometimes we look at the new year as like that kind of reset for us and that's good and we're going to be better this year and we're going to do things. But in reality is as Christians, we get the gift to be forgiven at the moment that we truly repent.

00:05:50.110 --> 00:06:04.990
And so let's not take for granted that gift that the Lord has given us, that right now in this moment we can say, lord, forgive us for my sins. Forgive me for what I did, forgive me for falling short, for not having the right mindset, for not doing.

00:06:05.230 --> 00:06:19.740
For not being obedient, for. For not doing what I knew I had to do. And if we truly repent, the Lord forgives us and he redeems us through, through Jesus Christ. And that is the heart of the gospel.

00:06:19.740 --> 00:07:24.399
So we're thankful for that today. Let's pray. Dear Father God, thank you for your redemption through Jesus. Thank you for the priceless blood of Christ that you shed on the cross, that because of that we get to be here today standing forgiven and redeemed. Thank you because we can make a mistake right now, but truly repent. And in an instant, Father, you are have forgiven us and we can move forward with our lives. Thank you for that, Lord. Thank you. Because we don't have to wait. The only thing that keeps us waiting is us. And if we don't repent. So I ask that you today you will forgive me and forgive us for any sins that we have committed that we know or that we don't know, Father, that we would truly have a heart of repentance to do this life right. So we don't take for granted the price that you paid many years in that cross and we thank you for it, Jesus. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
