00:00:00.080 --> 00:00:20.800
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1351. Today's Devo is called Nothing Compares. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.039 --> 00:00:57.990
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Well, hello and welcome back to the My Morning Devotional Podcast. This is your host for the week, Gabby Alessi. And I am so excited to jump in and to be a part of this week. Lauren kicked things off with a great devo of Proverbs, and today I'm going to be continuing it. This week we are going to cover another five chapters of Proverbs. Hopefully you've been reading over the weekend and you read 6. 7. Yeah, 6 and 7.

00:00:58.149 --> 00:01:13.109
Because today we're jumping into Proverbs 8 on this beautiful Monday. And this is going to be great. Side note, I want to say the next time I host this podcast, next month I will officially be Gabby Kaladiud. So that is super exciting.

00:01:13.109 --> 00:01:16.549
Okay, let's jump into it. That's just a side note. All right. Proverbs

00:01:16.549 --> 00:01:23.319
11. We are jumping into it. It says this. For wisdom is more precious than rubies.

00:01:23.719 --> 00:01:27.000
Nothing you desire can compare with her.

00:01:27.640 --> 00:01:35.079
Guys, nothing compares to following wisdom, our desires, what we think is right, what we feel like we need.

00:01:35.799 --> 00:01:43.480
Nothing compares to wisdom. I love that it. It connects it or uses rubies as a. An example.

00:01:44.530 --> 00:02:20.929
Because when you are looking at diamonds or rubies or jewelry, you know, we think the most valuable things in our life are the things that we have to pay for. When Proverbs is telling us that wisdom is greater and more valuable and more precious than the things that we pay for, which speaks to the value of wisdom. It is better to choose wisdom over material things. It is better to choose wisdom over the thing that feels right. It is better to choose wisdom over the thing that you really want and you feel like you need. Wisdom is greater.

00:02:21.088 --> 00:02:28.528
Wisdom is more precious. Wisdom is always the best decision, and nothing compares to it.

00:02:28.688 --> 00:02:43.659
Which leads me to verse 17, that it really does break down how we can receive wisdom. It says this. I love those who love me. This is wisdom speaking. I love those who love me.

00:02:43.979 --> 00:02:46.620
And those who seek me find me.

00:02:47.819 --> 00:03:12.900
The whole point is that if you look for wisdom, you will find it. Wisdom is not a ruby that you have to dig for. It's not a diamond that you have to go to the ends of the earth to seek. It's not the Fountain of Youth that you have to go on this adventure and seek something out and seek, sacrifice a part of your life to receive eternal youth. Yes, I watched a movie about the Fountain of Youth. That's not wisdom.

00:03:12.900 --> 00:03:24.180
Wisdom's saying, if you seek me, you will find me. If you look for me, I will be there. Wisdom is not hard to find. That's what we're doing this whole month. We're looking for wisdom.

00:03:24.180 --> 00:04:04.189
We're opening up the book of the Bible and the Book of Proverbs, and we're seeking out wisdom. And so many of us might think, well, wisdom's really difficult, or wisdom's really hard to find, or, I wasn't raised in a way that, you know, wisdom wasn't accessible to me. When the Book of Proverbs is saying the opposite, it's saying, if you seek wisdom, you will find it. There's another verse of this that it says, does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? This is verse one. This is the beginning of Proverbs 8, verse one. And it's literally saying, does not wisdom call out and does not understanding raise her voice? What does this mean? Wisdom is actively searching for us.

00:04:05.310 --> 00:05:15.930
Wisdom is calling out to us. When we're in a situation where we gotta make a decision on the next year of our life, where we're gonna go for school, where we're gonna go for a job, or who we're gonna marry, or how we're gonna overcome a really hard season, Wisdom in that moment is calling out to you. But the whole point is, are we looking for it? Are we searching for it? And to answer that question, all of us that are listening, we are searching for it. You are searching for it as we go through the Proverbs together. You listening to a podcast about the Book of Proverbs? Nobody is doing that today. Everybody wants knowledge, but nobody wants wisdom. Why? Because wisdom comes from the Lord. Knowledge is easy for man to have, but wisdom comes from God. And you, by listening to this podcast, you're looking for wisdom. And what does it say? Those who seek me, find me. Wisdom's calling out to us through the My Morning Devotional podcast. If you tune in, if you listen, if you search for it, wisdom will find you, and you will find it.

00:05:16.410 --> 00:05:23.860
And it's more precious than rubies, and nothing compares to it. Let's pray. Lord, we thank you for wisdom.

00:05:24.420 --> 00:05:28.180
Thank you that you provide wisdom and help to all of us.

00:05:28.180 --> 00:05:46.029
Lord, you don't leave us in lack. You don't leave us in confusion. You don't leave us to figure out life on our own. No you send us wisdom. You give us wisdom to help us overcome the trials of life, to help us make decisions and help plan out our future and and so we thank you for it God.

00:05:46.110 --> 00:06:15.839
We are all searching for wisdom and we ask that we will find it during this series. In Jesus name I pray. Amen and amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven.
