Never Alone

Never Alone

Where do you feel closest to God? Is it in a church, at home, or perhaps during a quiet drive? In today’s episode, Gaby Calatayud guides us through the comforting truth that God’s presence is not confined to any one place. Together, we’ll explore how, through Jesus, we’ve been given access to God’s presence wherever we go—on our best days and our worst, in community and in solitude. We’ll reflect on Psalm 139 and learn to recognize the nearness of God in every moment, cultivating gratitude for His unwavering companionship.

Join our devotional community as we pray for awareness of God’s presence and seek to walk boldly and gratefully, inviting Him into every part of our day.

You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1393. Today's Devo is called Never Alone. Hey there. We're the Alessi's a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Well, happy Wednesday, everybody. Hope you guys are having a great day. I know Wednesdays can kind of feel like the they used to call them hump days. I don't even know if people call them that anymore. But I'm excited for today's Devo. This is Gabby, your host. And this whole week we've been talking about grateful or being grateful for who God is and, and stirring up that gratefulness as we are going into the season of Thanksgiving. And I think it's so good that we are focusing on the character of God, the heart of God, who he is, versus just being grateful for what he does for us. I think it's got to start here, and I said it in the first episode, that a lot of us believers get stuck on what God does with his hand and we don't focus too much on his heart. And I love that we're doing this in this week, that we're focusing on the character of God.

00:01:18.500 --> 00:01:29.230
We're focusing on who he is and, and not just focusing on it, but we're giving thanks, we're, we're thanking him for that. And the one area I want to focus on today is the presence of God.

00:01:30.269 --> 00:02:27.710
I think oftentimes we believe the presence of God is only in church. Like we believe the presence of God is in one location and it doesn't move. When that was Old Testament, that, that, that was a belief of the Old Testament. But that's not something that we have in this new covenant. Right Back in the old covenant, it was that it was contained. The presence of God was contained at the synagogue. And that's where in the tabernacle. And people would go there. And only a specific person could enter the presence of God. And when you entered the presence of God, you had to have a specific robe and a specific appearance, right? You had to look a certain way and act a certain way when you were walking in the presence of God. Nowadays that's been open because of Jesus. The veil was torn. And now we get to operate in the presence of God. And in Psalms 139, verse 7, it says, where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

00:02:28.110 --> 00:02:50.289
If I go up to the heavens, you are there. If I make my bed in the depths, you are there. And what's so beautiful about this verse is, is they're talking about how I can go anywhere. I can be in the best place. I could be in the darkest place, and God is still with me. I could be in my best day or in my worst day, and God is still with me.

00:02:50.930 --> 00:03:45.550
I could be on a mountaintop or in a valley, and God is still with me. And I'm just so grateful for the presence of God. And I'm so grateful that God didn't keep his presence to the synagogue. I'm so grateful that God didn't keep his presence to the tabernacle. I'm so grateful that he released it. I'm so grateful that he tore the veil. I'm so grateful that he opened up access to his presence to all of us, that we can be in the car right now. You might be listening to this. And the presence of God could be with you. I'm so grateful that you could be at work and. And walking down the hallways at work. And you're in the presence of God when you call on his name. I'm just so grateful. You could be in the hospital for far away from the church and call on the name of the Lord. And his presence can just swarm in because it just says it in this verse. Where can I go? Where can I flee?

00:03:46.590 --> 00:04:28.850
His presence is everywhere. And this is so encouraging today because maybe you're in a place where you don't feel the presence of God. Or maybe you're in a place where you are really depending on God to come through. Call on the name of the Lord, get active in his presence, Invite his presence in. He is there with you. I'm so grateful that God gives us access to his presence. And my. My prayer for all of us is that we would live a life that's holy and pleasing and righteous to the Lord, that we approach his presence in a holy way, that we would approach his, his presence in a way that is pleasing unto Him.

00:04:30.089 --> 00:05:16.019
So let's just pray and thank the Lord today. God, thank you for your presence, Father. I could feel you right now, even as I speak and record this devo. God, your presence is in this room. God, where can we go from your presence? You're always there. And we thank you that we can always depend on you being there. Father. There might be a lot of listeners today that can't depend on people to be there. Maybe a lot of this, this Devo family has lost people that are dependable or can't depend on people. They've lost trust in people that they, they thought they could depend on. But Father, even in the midst of that, we can trust that you are always there. In our best days, you're there. In our worst days, you're there.

00:05:16.339 --> 00:06:07.569
And we thank you Lord for it. And we just lift up your name and we ask that you, you continue to surround us, that you continue to let us operate in your presence 24, 7. That every room we walk into, we are walking in with the authority of Jesus on our lives in your presence, whether we're at work, at school, at home, with our children, God, wherever it is, if we're traveling, Father, we are walking around the temple of the Lord filled with your presence. In Jesus name we pray. Amen and Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
