You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1435.

00:00:03.759 --> 00:00:06.160
Today's Devo is called Morning Sun.

00:00:06.160 --> 00:00:29.769
Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Well, happy New Year.

00:00:29.769 --> 00:01:24.079
I think we're still living in the Happy New year, guys. It's January 2nd, the last day of this week. It is Friday, and I am excited to be finishing up this week with you all. It's been an honor and a pleasure to be your host this week. This is Gabby, if you can't tell by my voice, but it's been amazing to be your host this week as we are coming to a close of this week. And you're probably. You probably don't even know what day of the week it is because every time the holiday you go through the week between Christmas and New Year, it's like we lose where we are and what time it is and what day it is. But just reminding you, it is Friday, January 2nd, and the weekend is coming and you're probably going back to work on Monday. So I pray for you right now. But Proverbs 4:18-19 says this. The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness. They do not know what makes them stumble.

00:01:24.079 --> 00:01:32.280
I love this verse because morning sun just reminds me of a new day and a new year. And in my.

00:01:32.280 --> 00:01:46.719
My new house with my husband, my. I think the mornings are my favorite. It's the mornings and the nights are my favorite. But the mornings are so special because I go downstairs and I open all of my windows because there's something so special about the morning sun.

00:01:46.719 --> 00:02:20.569
The morning sun just hits different. It's like warmer, it's lighter. When. When the morning sun does not pierce through the clouds, you just wake up in a terrible mood. But when it comes to through the clouds and there are no clouds, there's something so pure and bright and radiant about the morning sun. There's nothing like waking up in the morning, making yourself a cup of coffee and sitting by that window or having the natural light shine through your house because there's something significant and special about a new day and that morning sun.

00:02:20.569 --> 00:02:56.990
And I love that in this Proverb. He's talking about how righteousness is similar and is that of the morning sun, that righteousness is pure. Righteousness feels brand new every day that you're walking in it. Righteousness is bright and radiant. Here's the word that I was thinking about when it comes to the morning sun. The morning sun is consistent. Every morning, you know, it's going to rise every morning, you know, it's going to be there, it's going to be, it's in its place. Maybe clouds will be covering it, but it's there. The morning sun is consistent.

00:02:56.990 --> 00:03:04.830
Righteousness and walking in righteousness, it's consistent and it creates a consistency within us.

00:03:04.830 --> 00:03:20.310
There's a discipline that we develop when we walk in righteousness. And I love this, this line. It says shining ever brighter to the light of day. I just love that, that we are shining bright when we choose to walk in righteousness.

00:03:20.310 --> 00:03:56.159
We are a light, we are shining bright. We are pure to others that are seeing us and we are shining into their lives. So if you're looking for a New Year's resolution and you're asking the Lord, man, lord, what should I do this year? What should I pursue this year? If you're looking for what to be reading or what to be, you know, studying, look at proverbs and look at living a life of wisdom and righteousness. I think this is just a great time to do it. As we come into a new year, focus on walking in wisdom this year. Living in wisdom, making wise decisions, you know, pursuing righteousness.

00:03:56.159 --> 00:04:44.079
The Bible talks about how important it is that, you know, it says we seek first his kingdom and his righteousness because righteousness is important. It's being in right standing with God. And that's why it says it's like the morning sun. It's consistent, it's pure, it's radiant. It's all of the qualities that we should be living up to as a believer. So in this new year, let's pursue righteousness, let's chase after it, let's be consistent in our righteousness as we reflect the morning sun. Lord, we thank you for today. We thank you for this new year. We ask, Lord, that you would help us pursue righteousness as consistent as we can, Father, that we would be pure, we would be radiant to those around us. As we bless your people in 2026. We thank you for it all. In Jesus name, amen and amen.

00:04:44.079 --> 00:05:05.670
