Make Memories
How do we truly make the most of each holiday season with our loved ones? In today’s episode, host Richelle Alessi guide us through the heartwarming theme of making memories and being present with our families. Together, we’ll reflect on the importance of cherishing each moment, especially during this Christmas of 2025—knowing it’s a unique and fleeting gift from God. Today's Devil is called Make Memories.
00:00:08.160 --> 00:00:54.799
Hey there. We're the Alessi's a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Thursday. My name is Rachelle Alessi, and I can't believe it's already Thursday. Like, I also can't believe we are in the second week of December of 2025. We've been talking about truly winning our holidays. And today's episode is all about making memories with your family and being present with your family.
00:00:55.280 --> 00:01:31.150
Yesterday we talked about not fully checking out just yet, but getting our responsibilities, our work done so we can fully enjoy our time off. But today I want to talk about making memories with our families. The truth is, if we truly get our responsibilities done and we get things done, that means that now we have the time to. To truly make response. Make memories. I'm sorry. Make memories with their family. And I am in the season right now where I have a little boy, he's two years old.
00:01:31.950 --> 00:01:51.299
And we are just now really learning what it is to have more of holiday traditions and things like that. Because when kids are little, you know, there's only so much they can do. And even though Marino's still little, he's a big boy and we're having a blast.
00:01:51.459 --> 00:02:27.889
He's learning about Santa. He's even saying Santa. My niece is full on, on Santa mode. She believes in Santa and is the sweetest, sweetest thing. And so we've had such a great time, even this. Thanks. Saving season with my niece, my nephew and Marina and seeing how much they're growing and learning. And it's put into perspective for me how fast time goes. And even though they're still little and I have much more time with them. And a lot of you listening probably have older kids or teenagers or are past those phases and have young adult kids.
00:02:27.889 --> 00:02:58.199
And you more than anybody understand how fast time goes. And I want to steward these years, right? And the truth is that every holiday season, every Christmas, every year, that we get to do Christmas and Thanksgiving together is a gift from the Lord. It's not just something that happens every year, but it is a time where we are allowed to experience joy and experience such a beautiful time with our family. And let's not take it for granted this year.
00:02:58.438 --> 00:03:02.039
Let's not see it just another year more gifts.
00:03:02.039 --> 00:03:20.400
Get through Thanksgiving, get through Christmas morning, get through things. Let's see it as such a gift that we get 2025, the Christmas of 2025 that we will never get again. And so let's make the best of it. Let's be intentional, let's be present.
00:03:21.439 --> 00:04:30.540
Let's not just say we're going to be there, but let's be present when we are with our kids, when we are with our parents, with our aunts, our uncles, and every family that we haven't seen, our grandparents, let's be present. Let's put our phones away. Let's truly be present and in every moment of this holiday season and truly invest in the people who matter, your family and your closest friends. Because these are the people that do life with you every day. And sometimes we're like, those are the people that we've had enough from, but they are our family, our biggest gift, our closest friends. So let's give it our all and let's just make the best out of this holiday season. And there's a verse, Ephesians 5, 15, 16, that says, Be very careful, making the most of every opportunity because we only get 2025 the Christmas of 2025 one time, then next year we'll get 2026, but it won't be the 2025 Christmas.
00:04:30.779 --> 00:05:15.029
And so let's make sure that we together make the best and we make memories in our present with our family and closest friends. So let's pray. Dear Father God, thank you so much for the gift of Christmas this year. And we promise to not take it for granted, to not take for granted the people around us and everything that you are providing for us to have this amazing moment. As we also now forget the reason of Christmas and the only reason we have Christmas is because of your son Jesus. And so, Lord, we thank you and we pray that this Christmas 2025 will be one of the best ones yet that will make memories that we will never, ever forget. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
00:05:15.670 --> 00:05:36.639
So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
