Living In Innocence

Living In Innocence

What does it mean to truly live in freedom and innocence? In today’s episode, host Lauren invites us to go beyond simply knowing we’ve been made innocent through Christ and to discover what it looks like to walk daily in that freedom. Jesus said in John 8:36, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” This powerful promise reminds us that the freedom we have in Him is not temporary or conditional—it is lasting, life-changing, and transforms the way we see ourselves and live each day.

Join us in prayer and devotion as we pursue lives marked by purity, freedom, and the deep peace that flows from walking closely with Jesus.

00:00:00.080 --> 00:00:10.640
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1370. Today's episode is called Living in Innocence. Hey there.

00:00:10.720 --> 00:00:52.469
We're the Alessi's a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Hello, everyone, My name is Lauren Alessi and I am your host for this week. Okay, so to be totally honest, I am recording this in advance, but I am aware of what day it is today, and that is October 3rd, morning time, which means that it is a special day for our family. And that means that Gabby Alessi will be coming.

00:00:52.469 --> 00:02:02.189
Ms. Gabrielle Kaladiyud. It is her wedding day, which means that right now we are getting ready for the wedding, we are getting prepped, and it's an exciting day for our family. So, Gabby, you have a whole audience of listeners. Let's just be prayed up for Gabby and Christian today as she gets out and gets married, but also sets out on an adventure of a lifetime as a wife. And let's just be praying for her and her future husband and all that God has in in store. And yeah, you've got this, Gabby. We love you and we're praying for you. Okay, so today's podcast episode is still on the topic of innocence. And today we're talking about not just being made innocent, but living in innocence. And I recognize that this is a very deep topic, maybe for some people, but again, it was inspired by a song. You can go listen to the worship song by Metro Life Worship Shameless Plug. Um, but it really just got me thinking about the idea of innocence and God making us totally innocent. Um, but today it's about not just being made innocent, but living in innocence. So the word says this in John

00:02:02.189 --> 00:02:47.150
36. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. And I think if we can live in freedom, why can't we live in innocence? I think if God wants to cleanse us and purify us and make us whole and make us innocent, and if God also wants us to set us free and us to live free, I think God also wants us to live lives of being made clean, whole and innocent. And I think God wants us to live that life as well. So innocent in Christ isn't just like a legal declaration, like, okay, I'm deciding to make this Declaration and it's done. I signed the paperwork. It's done. No, It's a new way of life. Now you're free from guilt and shame.

00:02:47.789 --> 00:03:27.919
And now we are called to work in purity, joy, and freedom. And now we're also called to walk in the testimony that Christ has done for us. Whatever Christ has cleansed you from, whatever God has healed you from the work that Christ has done in you because of his work on the cross, now it's our job to carry it out and to share our testimony with others because of what Jesus has done. So here's some questions I have for you before we pray. What guilt or shame are you still carrying that maybe you already have taken to Jesus, but you're still carrying around that you can give back to God and walk in freedom and walk in innocence again?

00:03:28.960 --> 00:03:39.560
What is some. Maybe it's something really, really big. Maybe it was a really bad event that happened in your life, or maybe it was a really bad mistake that you made. Once and for all.

00:03:39.800 --> 00:03:47.000
Give it to God. Let him take it. And remember that if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed. Walk in.

00:03:47.479 --> 00:04:42.209
Walk in purity, walk in righteousness, and walk in innocence. And maybe also ask yourself this. How can your life be a living testimony and glorify God if you. If you come from a crazy past, if something crazy has happened to you, do you know how much more of a testimony you have because God has healed you from something so crazy you don't even want to share it? And that's okay. Maybe you don't have to share it. But just you living out your freedom, your healing, your purity, that alone is a glorifying God. That alone is a testimony. So let's just pray right now and let's go into this next week believing God, that we walk in wholeness, we walk in clarity, we walk in freedom, we walk in innocence. Can we do that as an audience, the My Morning Devo audience. Can we do that together?

00:04:42.769 --> 00:05:18.839
Let's pray. Dear Lord, we just thank you for today, Lord, and first of all, God, we lift up Gabby and Christian and their marriage unto you. We pray for an amazing day, God, that everything goes smoothly and that you give them peace for today, God. We also pray for everyone listening to the sound of my voice, for everyone listening to this podcast, Lord, maybe it hit them in a certain way. Lord God, I pray that you give them peace to understand and turn back to the word, Lord, to gain understanding and knowledge. Lord and God, I just pray right now. Give us the freedom. Give us the permission, Lord, give us the boldness to walk in freedom and innocence.

00:05:19.079 --> 00:05:26.569
Not because of anything we've done, not because of a decision we're making, Lord, but because of what Christ did for us on the cross.

00:05:26.569 --> 00:05:30.370
And because of that, we come into agreement with his work and your work.

00:05:30.370 --> 00:05:52.860
And we can walk in innocence and we can walk in freedom. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotion, share it with a friend, leave a comment or review for us on the app you're using right now.

00:05:52.939 --> 00:05:57.899
Until tomorrow. We pray that your latte is strong. But your love for Jesus is stronger.
