Listen To Taylor

Listen To Taylor

What kind of friend do you want to be, especially when conversations turn towards gossip? In today’s episode, host Stephanie Muiña invite us to discover the power of our words as they reflect on Proverbs 26:20. We’ll explore together the impact of gossip, the importance of bringing peace and unity into our relationships, and how we can be friends who cover and protect one another— and you’ll see why we might actually learn something from Taylor Swift! As a community, we’ll learn to let our words reflect the nature of Christ and bring wisdom, joy, and celebration to every room we enter.

Join us for this uplifting devotional as we come together in prayer, asking God for wisdom and self-control, and seeking to grow as a community that treasures His word and spreads His love.

You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1365. Today's Devo is called Listen to Taylor. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning, everybody, and happy Friday. We made it. We made it. And we have been having a wonderful week of reading Proverbs. I'm just so happy that we've had the chance to read the Bible with you all. But here's my encouragement. Continue to read on through the weekend. Even if you won't hear my beautiful voice in the mornings, tomorrow and Sunday, you could still go read the word of God and go complete proverbs, even make this like a monthly routine for you. Once a day, one chapter a day, read the Proverbs. It will just grow your life, grow your mind, grow your heart, and it will bless your life. Well, let's continue it right now. Proverbs

00:01:12.200 --> 00:01:23.090
20. And it says, without wood, a fire goes out. Without a gossip, a quarrel dies down. Gossip, gossip, gossip.

00:01:23.090 --> 00:01:34.530
Oh, how we love you. And as you head into your weekend and you're gonna go hang out with your friends and your family, just know and be prepared that there might be a moment for you to gossip.

00:01:35.250 --> 00:01:38.849
But here is my question that will haunt you as you gossip.

00:01:39.489 --> 00:01:54.129
I'm just kidding. I love you guys. Is this gossip bringing peace? Another question. Is this gossip bringing forgiveness? Another question. Is this gossip bringing understanding?

00:01:55.170 --> 00:01:58.849
Let me just remind you of your role as a Christian.

00:01:59.329 --> 00:02:29.180
It's to bring Jesus and the nature of Christ into every conversation and in every room that you enter. So will gossip help us do that? I'm just going to leave it to you. You answer that at your own time. Okay. And I understand venting. I understand letting off some steam with people that you trust. And with those who know your heart, that's a different thing. But when the venting is over, can you leave with a pure heart?

00:02:29.659 --> 00:02:51.830
Did you actually let off the steam? Because the truth is, one day you are going to need someone to cover you. You will go through a time that people will want to talk about, maybe. And you will want to trust that the people will cover you if you start to sow seeds of righteousness.

00:02:52.069 --> 00:03:33.300
Now watch how people cover you if things ever get tough. Watch how people protect you. Watch how people got your back. You know Taylor Swift? I know it's funny, but she once said to an interviewer, the interviewer asked her, what's something that surprises you? Taylor Swift? And Taylor goes, what's always surprised me is that I have gone through so many breakups with so many men publicly, yet not one detail has ever left my circle of friends. Which means Taylor Swift, no matter your opinion on her, has some friends that cover her.

00:03:34.020 --> 00:03:48.259
She's got some friends that keep her life sacred and keep her life secret out of the public eye. I don't know about you, but those are the type of friends that I want. And that's the type of friend I want to be. So let's let our words bring unity.

00:03:48.580 --> 00:04:03.069
Let's let our words bring peace. Let's let our words bring relationships, joy and celebration. And let's our conversation and our words bring the nature of Christ to everyone that we encounter this weekend. Come on, let's pray.

00:04:03.310 --> 00:04:21.699
God, we just thank you. We thank you for this week of diving into your wisdom. And I pray that every verse that we read this week, God will make a seed in our heart and that we will remember these verses when we need it most and that they will be treasures in our soul, treasures in our mind for us to use during the hard times.

00:04:22.098 --> 00:04:36.259
I pray God that we'll be able to practice self control, that we will have a passion for wisdom, we'll have a passion for righteousness, that we'll have the energy to get back up, to rise back up as you have called us to do.

00:04:36.738 --> 00:04:47.740
And Father, we love you, we glorify you, we praise you and we pray that this weekend will be a special one where we get to share of your nature and bring you into to every room we walk into.

00:04:48.220 --> 00:04:51.980
And in Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it.

00:04:51.980 --> 00:05:02.939
Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional. Share it with a friend.
