00:00:00.560 --> 00:00:21.920
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional Podcast, episode 1482. Today's devo is called, "Just Say Yes." Hey there! We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to-do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.920 --> 00:01:02.179
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a 5-minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Happy Tuesday, everybody! Stephanie here, and we're going to continue on in our series of internal inconsistencies. Today I am talking about saying yes to the Lord in any season and in every situation. 1 Peter 4:10 says in the NIV version, each of you should use whatever gift you have received to to serve others as faithful stewards of God's grace and its various forms.

00:01:02.179 --> 00:01:16.980
So a while ago, I met this girl. I lived in Texas for a short time, and I met this girl over there who really encouraged me and taught me the value of saying yes to God no matter what he's asking you to do.

00:01:16.980 --> 00:02:18.189
And she had a life to show for it. God would— she would get invited to trips to Africa, for trips to China, trips to Indonesia. And every time she would get invited, she would just say yes and she would go. People would ask her to come over to her— their house and ask her to pray for them, and she would go. And every time the Lord opened a door for her to go and bless others, she just said yes. And that always inspired me. And when I was single and when I was going to college and I had a, a small part-time job, that was very easy for me to do. I was saying yes to youth group, I was saying yes to young adults, I was saying yes to Sunday church, I was saying yes to all the late night calls, all the early morning walks, whatever it was. I was ready to be used by God any capacity. But now my life has changed. I'm married, I have babies at home.

00:02:18.189 --> 00:02:36.590
I'm now saying yes to my family, I'm saying yes to my marriage. And I will always believe that I have a calling to serve God in every capacity I can serve. I'll always believe that us Christians are called to serve God in any capacity he asks us to serve.

00:02:36.590 --> 00:02:55.030
And sometimes that looks different depending on the the season, but I still have ways that I say yes. I didn't say yes less times, I just made my yes more specific. If your church needs help somewhere, say yes.

00:02:55.030 --> 00:02:58.949
If someone in your church is grieving, say yes.

00:02:58.949 --> 00:04:12.490
If God is calling you to buy that person coffee, say yes. If God is stirring you up to ask that person how they're doing on a heart level, say yes. Because God will continue to throw you the ball if you keep catching the ball. A quarterback isn't going to throw the ball to a running back who keeps dropping it. He wants to trust that person to catch the ball and to run it down the field. Well, God does the same thing with us. God is on a mission every single day to grow His church and to bless us. And to help us. And sometimes he will use you. He will use your family. He will use your marriage. He will use your one text message. He will use your one hug to completely change the trajectory of somebody else's life. And it all starts with you saying yes. Now, I understand that time and availability, it just changes, and that's perfectly fine. The truth is I want to be a mom and a wife first. My first ministry is my family. But now I have found new ways to serve other people.

00:04:12.490 --> 00:04:31.879
I text all the time somebody who comes up in my heart. I'm praying for you today. Here's a Bible verse. If I have somebody on my heart, another young mom, I pick up the phone and I FaceTime them. How are you doing? How are you keeping up with this? There are all different ways to continue to do ministry.

00:04:31.879 --> 00:05:23.959
Don't think because of a new season or your availability that you have to say no. You can reinvent new ways to say yes because God wants to use you to build his kingdom, and there is no better kingdom to build except the kingdom of God. So today, my encouragement to you is this if you see the door open in front of you, If you feel the Lord stirring up your heart, say yes. Let's pray. God, we thank you, Father, that you have your eyes on everybody and that you are on a mission to bless us and to bless others all day long. So God, we declare that you are going to use us to do that, and we believe that we are, are going to be used to bless your people. So here we are, ready to be used, and when you When you call on us, we will say yes. And in Jesus' name we pray, amen.

00:05:23.959 --> 00:05:45.800
So there you have it, your 5-minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
