Jesus Shows True Love

Jesus Shows True Love

Can anyone really love us the way we need to be loved? In today’s episode, Richelle Alessi leads us in exploring what true love looks like through the eyes of Jesus. Together, we'll reflect on His ultimate act of sacrifice, asking how it reshapes our understanding of love, not only in our relationships with family and friends, but in the core of who we are. You're listening to my Morning devotional podcast, episode 1504. Today's devote is called Jesus Shows True Love. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Thursday. I hope that you are liking this week and that we are still processing Easter and Holy Week and bringing in Jesus still into our everyday life and how he modeled great things for us that we can take on and use today and become more like him in the things that he modeled. And we've talked about how Jesus has showed perseverance, how Jesus showed self control. We talked about yesterday how Jesus showed true surrender, the King of kings showed true surrender. And today I want to talk about how Jesus showed true love.

00:01:09.180 --> 00:01:24.609
And this true love phrase, it's so, I think overused because we hear in movies we use it personally, like, what is true love? What is this? And I think Jesus did the ultimate sacrifice that showed true love.

00:01:24.609 --> 00:01:56.540
And that's something that now you and I received. We have received his true love and we get to live in his true love forever. And we just have to accept it and we have to believe it. And I'm going to read from John 19:30. And it says, when Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, it is finished. And he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. His ultimate act of love, the crucifixion.

00:01:56.540 --> 00:02:51.030
And he said, it is finished. And he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. This verse we've read many times and we have heard it, we've seen it in Easter shows, we've read it on our own times. But it really hit me differently this time around because it was the ultimate sacrifice which showed the ultimate act of true love. Nobody could ever be Jesus in true love, which means nobody gets to love you as much as Jesus loves you. And that is such a great reminder for all of us because we are all loved by different people, were loved by our parents, and that is that love is so strong. I mean, I love my son so much, and I don't, and. And my love for him grows every day.

00:02:51.030 --> 00:03:28.500
And I love my husband, and my love for him grows every day. My husband loves me. We are surrounded by love, by my friends, by my family. It is a beautiful Thing here at our church, we have so many beautiful people and we're so loved by them. And I love them, and it's. It's beautiful. Yet nobody in my life can love me like Jesus loves me. Nobody in my life could ever do what Jesus did for me, which means he gets the ultimate true love in my life. And in return, I give the same to him.

00:03:28.500 --> 00:04:25.930
I am going, he is the true love of my life. He gets my true love back every single day because he deserves that. And if you're listening to this today, and you don't have a lot of family, or maybe you live in a different city and you're not surrounded by a lot of your family every day, or. Or you don't. You moved recently and you don't have a lot of friends yet, or. Or you're building a life and you're building new relationships and you might feel like right now I feel a little alone, or maybe I don't feel so loved. Or you're waiting for your significant other to come, or you're waiting to have children, or there is an aspect of love that you feel like you're missing, either by you giving it to someone or somebody giving it to you. Just know that you have it in Jesus and that he is.

00:04:25.930 --> 00:04:38.120
He can show you the truest love ever. That every other love that you'll get will be on top of his great love. Experiencing a spouse and children and family.

00:04:38.120 --> 00:04:53.480
All of that is extra. How beautiful is it? That's overflow. But that. Whatever. The only love you'll ever need deep, deep down is the true love of Jesus Christ that He truly showed us in the ultimate sacrifice of the cross.

00:04:53.480 --> 00:04:57.910
So just a quick reminder that you are truly loved today.

00:04:57.910 --> 00:05:20.660
Jesus saw you before he did that crucifixion, when he had to walk through those streets and carry that cross and endure all the hard things, he had you in mind. He saw your face. He saw your life 20,000 years later. And he said, you are worth dying for. And I know we've heard this before before.

00:05:20.660 --> 00:05:53.730
These are not original words from me. We've heard this before because this is what the. The Word is. But let this episode today just be a reminder that Jesus loves you and that he cares for you and that he truly, truly loves you. Accept his love. And if you don't feel it, open up his. Open up His Word. You are going to see in his written word how much he truly loves you and cares for you. So let's pray. Dear Father God, thank you for your love. Thank you for your sacrifice.

00:05:53.730 --> 00:06:01.410
Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice that nobody could have endured, Father, but you. You did it.

00:06:01.410 --> 00:06:05.329
And because of that we get to be loved today by you.

00:06:05.329 --> 00:06:24.709
And every other love is on top and is extra and it's your goodness. But we truly have all we need in you. So we thank you for that. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
