How do we keep moving forward when life feels overwhelming?

In today’s episode, host Richelle Alessi invites us to explore the unwavering perseverance of Jesus, especially in the hardest week of His life. Together, we’ll reflect on how His journey through Holy Week opens the door for us to walk in perseverance today, not by our strength alone, but because He loved us to the very end. Richelle shares personal stories from her parenting season, revealing how we all can mirror the character traits we’ve inherited from Christ.

Let’s come together as a community for this encouraging devotional and pray for the courage and determination to persevere, trusting that Jesus has already paved the way for our victory.

You're listening to my Morning devotional podcast, episode 1501. Today's devote is called Jesus Shows Perseverance. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.359 --> 00:00:32.630
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Monday.

00:00:32.630 --> 00:01:18.079
My name is Relle Alessi and I get to be your host this week. I hope that you guys really enjoyed Holy Week last week as we went on and talked about all the beautiful things that happened that week and we each took a turn. So you got to hear from us in different days. But today, this week is going to be me. And I'm really excited because my theme for the week is just showing some of the characteristics and character traits that Jesus showed in probably the hardest week of all time, which was Holy Week, and everything that he endured for us. And I believe that as I, as we reflected last week, it just truly inspired this week to show some of those things that even we can even learn from Jesus.

00:01:18.079 --> 00:01:59.769
But we can even apply today as his children now, right? We get to have some of these things. We not just get to have them, but we get to operate in them. And he's given us access to it because he conquered it and he did the hardest thing. And now that opened the door for us to be able to do the same. And the way that I think about it is I'm in kids season, so I'm going to use a lot of analogies with, with, with my kids, the things that the Lord is showing me and teaching me through my kids. But it's so beautiful because I get to see Marino, my son, and seeing now him almost three years old, his personality really coming through and showing.

00:01:59.769 --> 00:03:51.009
I see the parts that he gets from his dad, like when he asked, when he's super kind and loving, he really, truly got that from his dad. And when he gets a little intense, sadly, he gets that from me. And so I get to see the different things that he. He gets from us. And I got to see that. You know, we get, we get to have grapefruit from Jesus and we get to have access to, to the things that he is because we are his children too. And so today I want to talk about perseverance and how Jesus not only showed, but truly was the example of perseverance and, and in John 13:1 it says it was just before the Passover festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come near and for him to leave his world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. That phrase of he loved them to the end showed Jesus perseverance. Nothing ever stopped him from loving us to till the end. And he did everything that he could to make sure that his mission and his purpose here on earth was fulfilled. And it had nothing to do just with him. Guys. It was for us. Everybody watching today, everybody listening. Today the work of the Cross was for us. And Jesus showed true perseverance by loving us till the end. And it was not just his disciples, but it is truly all of us because we get to stand here today and even talk about it. Because of his work and his perseverance, nothing ever stopped Jesus.

00:03:51.009 --> 00:04:22.399
Nothing. His crowds only grew. His ministry was even more impactful. And even though at the end, for a season it looked like he had not won. And it was not the picture of victory that the Jews had waited for. Even through that, even through that disbelief of his people, Jesus did not let anything get in the way of finishing the work that His Father had given him.

00:04:22.399 --> 00:04:48.680
And that is true perseverance. And I hope that today you're encouraged by Jesus perseverance. Because of his perseverance, you and I are here today. And not only that, but you and I get to access that and put that into work as well. So you and I can persevere today and get through the hardest season of life and be victorious even when it doesn't feel like it.

00:04:48.680 --> 00:05:37.350
Because we know that the fault Jesus already did it and we can do it again through Him. He showed us that. So we can do it now. So let's pray. Dear Father God, thank you for showing us true perseverance. Thank you for the hard work that you did. Thank you for not letting anything stop you from accomplishing the mission and purpose that the Father had laid beside you. Thank you for doing that. Because for before that we are here today and now we get to even operate in that same spirit that you had back then. We get to operate in today. We can persevere as well, no matter the situation, because of the work of the cross and everything, Lord, that you did for us many years ago. So we thank you for that. In Jesus name we pray.

00:05:37.350 --> 00:06:00.040
Amen. So there you have it, your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in. Today we we pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
