Jesus Shows His Authority

What does real authority look like in our daily lives?
In today’s episode, Rachelle Alessi brings us into the heart of what it means for Jesus to show His authority and how we can walk in that same power. Together, we’ll explore the qualities Jesus modeled during His most challenging week (surrender, self-control, perseverance, and deep love) and how these open the door to living under God’s unstoppable authority. We’ll also reflect on the comfort that comes from knowing nothing can hold us back when Christ is for us.
Let’s unite in prayer and devotion as a community, seeking the courage to surrender and the confidence to walk boldly in the authority God gives.

You're listening to my Morning devotional podcast, episode 1505. Today's devote is called Jesus Shows His Authority. Hey there. We're the Alessi's a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Alison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Friday. Welcome to the last episode of the week of My Morning Diva. My name is Rachelle Alessi and I hope that this week has really blessed you. And I've loved just talking about the things that Jesus showed us during the probably the hardest week of his life and all the things that he endured and he modeled for us, his children many years later and things that we can take from him, that we can apply to our everyday life so we can become more like Him. And today I want to talk about his authority. Because Jesus showed so many different great qualities. He was the best example of everything. Of course we know that, but his authority stood out to me this time around because we know how the story ended. We know that Jesus died, was crucified, but then he resurrected. And he's alive today and he's alive in us and he's victorious and we get to walk in victory because of him. And in that, the Lord truly showed his authority. But the reason why I decided to talk about his authority last is because before Jesus got to this authority, he had modeled everything else. He had surrendered to the Lord. He had showed true love, he had showed self control, he had surrendered to him. He had showed perseverance, he had showed humility. I mean, I only have five days to talk about the things that the Lord showed. There's so many others that we can go back and see that the Lord truly modeled for us. And because of that, he truly got to walk in this authority that the Father gave him here on earth. And we know that Jesus died and then resurrected. And in Acts 2:24 it says God raised him up, losing up the pangs of death because it was not possible for him to be held by it. Jesus could not be held by death or the pain of death. The Bible says it was not possible. And Jesus is the God of the impossible. Yet for him, it was not possible to be held by death. That's how all powerful our Lord is. That's the amazing God we serve today. He could not be held by it the Lord could not be contained by death. He could not be conquered by death. He conquered the ultimate thing that we are all the most afraid of. The Lord did. And he not only did it in his life for us, we could see how Jesus multiple times showed that authority by the raising of Lazarus and another child in the Bible. I don't have the exact verses or names, but please just Google it and you'll see how Jesus operated in this authority and how everything just fell into place when Jesus spoke. Nothing could hold Jesus and he conquered death because of that. He showed it in his own resurrection, but also in others. And so just remember that you serve a father who has the ultimate authority. And this is so comforting because on Wednesday we talked about, you know, true surrender and the things that we have to surrender and let the Lord and say, lord, not my will, but your will. And we say that. And it's hard because there's things that we just want taken away from us, but we know we have to endure those things. But also remember that as we say those words of not my will, but your will, when we give the Lord the true surrender and we say, we're following you, we're letting the Lord walk into our lives with his full authority and the Lord will come and speak, order and speak miracles and blessings over our life that cannot be held by anyone. The enemy can't keep those things from you. Nobody can keep those things from you because of the authority of Jesus. And in that same way you have that power, that spirit in you, that authority in you as you surrender to the Lord, as you let the will of God go before you, as you persevere and operate in the fruits of the Spirit, you can also operate in that authority. And the Lord will give you the words and the wisdom and the actions to take and the power to even speak to those situations. Well, you'll see, you're not just tied down saying, not your will, but your will, Lord. And I'm just going to sit here and wait. I'm so sad. I am so weak. I can't do anything. So that's why it has to be God's will. Yes, sometimes we're limited as humans, but the Lord has zero limits and cannot be held by anything. So let that be your comfort today. You get to operate in that too. So let's not see those things, these things of having to be humble and persevere and self control and surrendering. Let's not see these things as like the downside of our faith. Let's see these Things as the things that give us the key to access that authority in our lives. To let the Lord just walk right beside us, right in front of us and. And let him be the one who makes the only things that he can make happen while we also operate in that authority and we speak to those mango tens and speak to our situation and speak to ourselves that we are not going to be victims, but that we're going to be victors in Jesus name. Because we serve the God who could not be held by anything. And that is Jesus Christ. So let's pray today. Father God, thank you so much for your work. Thank you for showing us that you have the ultimate authority, that we serve a God that cannot be held by anything. Which means that we are safe, we can conquer, we can persevere today, we can overcome, Lord. And we can be strong through it all, even in the darkest days, in the hardest seasons of our life, Lord. We can operate in that, Lord, because you are that good. It's not because of our will, because of your will that we get to operate in all these beautiful things today that we have access to. So help us Lord, today be more like you. Help us persevere. Help us operate in self control, Lord. Help us be true. Surrender. Give you full surrender of our life and to show the true love and to accept your true love. And in that we can walk in the truest of your authority and that we can walk in the life that you have planned for us. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. So there you have it, your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in. Today we pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
