Introverts Energized By People

Do you ever find yourself drained and thinking that the only answer is some alone time? In today's episode, host Richelle Alessi invites us to rethink how we restore our energy—especially if we consider ourselves introverts. Together, we’ll explore how being around the right people and nurturing meaningful relationships can actually refresh and energize us in surprising ways. Rooted in the encouragement of Genesis 2:18, we'll learn why it’s truly not good for us to be alone, and discover practical steps for connecting with friends and building a life-giving community.
Join us as we commit to walking in closer relationship with one another—and with God—through prayer and daily devotion.

We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:21.760 --> 00:01:09.849
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Thursday. I hope that you guys are having a great week. Great week. My name is Richelle Alessi and the weekend is almost approaching, but I have two days left and I'm really excited to share with you guys a little bit more about just getting yourselves refreshed and not letting the year get to you. And just to recap a little bit, we've talked about being generous. We've talked about remembering the promises of God. Yesterday we talked about getting the focus of ourselves and truly just blessing the Lord and getting a time where we get to worship God and thank him for how good he is.
00:01:10.090 --> 00:03:00.930
And today I have a super fun topic. And even the name of the podcast is kind of funny. It's ironic and it's called Introverts Energized by People. And as if you know, introverts are not going to be energized by people. They enter, they get their energy back by being alone, by being by themselves for a little bit. No noise from the. No person and nothing. But I find it funny that sometimes, believe it or not, no matter what your personality is, the way that you can get refreshed is by getting around people. And not just any people, but your friends, your closest friends, the people that you know that are there for you, that you love, that you can have a good time with. And I've been this year we've been intentional about who. Who's in our life. Me and my husband have been talking about this. This has been a topic of conversation for us and we've discussed, like, who are our close friends that we truly love to spend time? Who are the people that we truly want to spend some time with this year and just build a relationship. Because you've probably heard us say, but here at Metro Life Church, our church, our core values, our relationship with means we build everything on relationship, relationship with the Lord, relationship with each other. And no matter what personality you have, it truly is about relationship. And I can say that relationships have been the biggest blessing in my life to this day. And even though I can consider myself, I can put myself in the introvert category. Honestly, I've changed throughout the years. I don't even want to put myself in a category. But if you feel like sometimes you need to be away from people for a little bit, let me challenge you. And this here, if you're finding yourself, like you said, we were tired, and there's things that you're like, okay, I just don't know why I'm feeling this way.
00:03:01.250 --> 00:03:22.650
I know that you think the answer is not people, but believe it or not, getting around the right people will give you the right energy, will energize you, will refresh you. Getting around friends that you can just have a good laugh, Going to coffee and talking about things that are just funny. And you just get a light moment that is joyful, that is fun.
00:03:22.889 --> 00:03:37.490
It could really put a lot of gas in your tank. It doesn't always have to be super spiritual. Sometimes the biggest blessings really come through our relationships. And so there is this verse. So, yes, I'm gonna get to the verse. And the verse is Genesis
00:03:37.490 --> 00:03:40.810
00:03:41.129 --> 00:03:56.479
00:03:56.639 --> 00:04:00.400
00:04:00.560 --> 00:04:52.620
00:04:53.100 --> 00:05:11.850
00:05:12.250 --> 00:05:15.290
00:05:15.449 --> 00:05:44.810
00:05:45.050 --> 00:06:03.100
00:06:03.259 --> 00:06:40.709
00:06:41.350 --> 00:07:02.360
