How To Enter

What simple moments are you thankful for today? In this episode, host Richelle Alessi invites us to pause and reflect on the power of gratitude as we prepare our hearts for deeper prayer. We’ll revisit a timeless verse from Psalm 100:4—"enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise"—and explore how choosing thankfulness, even for the little things, reshapes our attitudes, uplifts our spirits, and opens us to God’s presence in new ways. Together, we’ll learn practical steps to cultivate a heart posture that welcomes God’s goodness, setting the stage for a more meaningful life of prayer.

00:00:27.429 --> 00:00:49.429
This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Tuesday. Welcome back to my morning Devotional podcast. My name is Rachelle Alessi and I'm really happy and excited to be with you guys this week. And yesterday we talked about about the goodness of God and how we get to taste it and see the goodness of the Lord in every season of our life.
00:00:49.990 --> 00:01:05.540
And I also mentioned that tomorrow I am bringing a special guest to help me finish out the week. And, and I'm really excited because we're going to be talking about prayer and this person I love dearly and I can't wait for you guys to hear.
00:01:05.780 --> 00:01:23.099
I will introduce her tomorrow, but in the meantime, it will stay a surprise and it's going to be, it's going to be a great rest of the week. But until we get to tomorrow and we talk more about prayer, I wanted to do a couple of topics that I think are good for us to get enough spirit as we even dive deeper into prayer.
00:01:23.099 --> 00:02:14.969
And yesterday, like I mentioned, it was about the goodness of the Lord. And today I want to be I to talk about entering the courts, entering God's presence. And there is a verse that I've used actually before. I've done a podcast already on this verse and I bet my sisters have done it too. But it's such a great verse and it's because the Lord is telling us how to do something. And as we prepare to learn about prayer and how to do it and how to be confident in it tomorrow and how to better our relationship with God through it. I wanted to read this verse just as a reminder. So I'm not sharing any new revelation from this verse, but just what the Bible tells us about this verse and is Psalm 104 and it says, enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise.
00:02:15.210 --> 00:02:18.969
Be thankful unto him and bless his name.
00:02:19.370 --> 00:02:26.849
And so guys, let's make sure that today, before we get to tomorrow, we find reasons to really thank the Lord.
00:02:27.090 --> 00:02:37.889
Yesterday we found reasons to see the goodness of the Lord through it all. Well, today, now we need now that We've seen the goodness. Let's thank the Lord for it.
00:02:37.969 --> 00:02:41.729
There's a lot of things that we should be thankful for.
00:02:42.050 --> 00:03:15.159
And my father in law wrote a book that is called 42 and his the line, the big line of the book is you're not dead, God's not done. And I truly that line one first of all is so powerful, but it's so true. So if you are breathing today, if you're listening today, there's a reason God's not done with you. So that means there's. There's things that you can thank the Lord for, there's things that, that you've overcome, there's things that you have accomplished. If you're standing here today, there is reasons to thank the Lord.
00:03:15.710 --> 00:03:44.939
And we don't always have to be overly thankful for these massive things, but sometimes we just have to be thankful that we woke up and had we were able to breathe today. We have to thank the Lord that, that we have a job, that we have a family, that our kids are healthy or that our spouses are healthy, that our family is healthy. Just things to thank the Lord for A simple thank you Lord for this meal. Thank you for providing for me to have to eat today.
00:03:45.180 --> 00:04:42.069
We forget the little things, the little miracles that we should be thankful for. And if our posture is to always be thankful, even in hard moments, our attitude and everything will just shift and that will just allow us to hear from the Lord, see things better. Because our heart and our mind is not on negativity or things that we shouldn't be thinking about. It's unthankfulness. And that alone allows us to enter the presence of the Lord. It gives us clear eyes and a clear mind and clear ears to truly experience the Lord. It's almost like a cleansing and having you guys notice that when you're thankful, you feel better. When you're complaining, when you're comparing yourself to others, when you're a little sad and you're kind of dealing with some of those emotions and staying in those emotions, you actually feel worse about yourself and it leads you to awful thoughts.
00:04:42.069 --> 00:05:23.399
Your attitude changes, you're rude to your family, you're angry. You find yourself not liking a person that you've never had a problem with. But for some reason that person is bothering you now and you find yourself finding a problem with everything and everyone that you see. And that's because we're not focusing on thankfulness. That's us not spending time and saying, lord, I'm thankful for this and truly entering his gates with thanksgiving, but it also says with praise and blessing the Lord's name. So today let's thank the Lord, let's praise the Lord and let's just bless his name because the Lord is worthy of all our praise.
00:05:23.639 --> 00:05:57.240
And we're going to see how much more effective our prayer life is when we come with this attitude. And not just our prayer life, but our everyday life with the Lord. So let's pray. Dear Father God, thank you so much for the little things and the big things that you do in our lives. Thank you simply for who you are. Thank you for being our Father. Thank you for being our friend. Thank you Holy Spirit, for being with us. Thank you Father, for the people around us. Thank you that we are breathing today. Thank you that we get to experience life another day.
00:05:57.319 --> 00:06:34.629
Help us see the beauty of today, Father. Help us see the goodness that you've given us by just being alive today, Father. And we promise from this day on, Father, to enter your courts with praise, thanksgiving, and by blessing your name because you deserve it, Lord. You deserve all thankfulness. You deserve our praise and you just deserve us blessing your name because you are worthy of it all. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
