00:00:00.239 --> 00:00:10.720
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1427. Today's episode is called His Love Endures. Hey there.
00:00:10.720 --> 00:00:36.750
We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Hello, everyone. My name is Lauren Alessi and I am your host for this week.
00:00:36.750 --> 00:00:44.189
And we are talking about a mix of things. We're talking about the Christmas holidays, we're talking about being present, being in the moment.
00:00:44.189 --> 00:00:48.750
I'm also sharing a little bit of, like, my personal life, my personal story.
00:00:48.750 --> 00:01:14.480
So follow along and we hope you enjoy. So if you tuned into yesterday's podcast, I announced that, yes, I am engaged. I am in shock myself. And the truth is I'm, I'm just so grateful to God because there were so many holidays that passed where I'm like, okay, another year alone. So many summers too that passed that I'm like, okay, another summer alone. And I saw a lot of friends.
00:01:14.480 --> 00:01:32.189
And I know this sounds traumatic, but like, I don't, I don't really talk about this part of it a lot because I don't want it to sound like I was just sad all the time because I wasn't. God gave me such a great life while. While I really waited for the one to come into my life, while I really waited for Daniel to come into my life.
00:01:32.189 --> 00:02:09.360
But it wasn't always easy. But now being on this side and getting to meet Daniel, the man I'm marrying, the man God brought into my life, all I'm filled with is just gratitude to the Lord. I'm filled with so many emotions, but the all encompassing emotion is just total gratitude. Because when you're in a season where all you've done is just pray for something and all you've really done is sow towards something and really just think about, okay, when's this going to come? What's this going to look like? And again, it's not like I was in the pits. Sad. When is this happening? Like, no, no, no, I wasn't suffering. That wasn't me at all. I had a great life.
00:02:09.360 --> 00:02:23.939
But it was something that I gave quite a lot of thought to. It was something that I gave quite a lot of prayer towards. And then once, now that it's just in my life and more Than anything. It's just a regular, everyday part of my life now.
00:02:23.939 --> 00:02:57.590
I'm just so grateful to God. And weirdly enough, it's just like, how did I ever live without this? And that's the most beautiful part, that I'm like, wow, I'm just so grateful to God. And I'm truly speechless until I look at the word of God and it says thigs like this found in Psalm 118:1 And this is our verse for the day. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. And it reminds me of that worship song. I forgot how it goes, but it goes, his love endures forever. Sing praise.
00:02:57.590 --> 00:03:19.780
Sing praise. And I think it goes, give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. Okay, I'm going to stop singing now. But anyways, it just. I remember hearing that song as a little girl, and now here I am today, and I still say, yeah, his love endures forever. And all I'm filled with is just gratitude to the Lord.
00:03:19.780 --> 00:03:41.330
So if you're listening to this and maybe you're someone who's in a season of, like, wow, God has blessed me with a ton. And I don't. I don't really know what to do with it. Just be in the moment and just be grateful. I think we. We kind of live in a society where it's like, okay, we have to be on to the next. We can't ever just be still, right? Like we talked about yesterday, just be still.
00:03:41.330 --> 00:04:03.780
Just know that he is God. We always have to be on to the next. We always have to be wanting something more. Like, we get one iPhone. Okay, when's the next iPhone coming out? You know? Like, why is that? Like, why can't we just be content with the car that we have? Be grateful for the iPhone that we have, for the makeup product I have. I always feel like I'm missing a makeup product.
00:04:03.780 --> 00:04:55.829
Like, I'm missing a concealer. Like there's a new concealer or. Or makeup lip liner, like, I just can't keep up. But when I just get to sit in the stillness of God and just be grateful for what he's given me and be like, I don't want anything more. I don't need anything more or anything less. God, I'm just grateful to you. You are good Lord, and your love endures forever. So I pray that if you're like me today and you're someone who's just grateful for what the Lord has done, you can be in that position as well. Not wanting more, not wanting less. And I do pray. If you're someone who's where I have been in the past and maybe you're like, I want to be there, but I'm still praying for things. I still want to see things happen in my life. I'm still asking God for some things. Stay in that position. Keep praying.
00:04:55.829 --> 00:05:00.269
Keep sowing seed towards what you want to see. Keep asking God for those things.
00:05:00.269 --> 00:05:03.829
Because here's the thing, still be grateful. But the Lord is good.
00:05:03.829 --> 00:05:37.180
His love endures forever and he will give you the desires of your heart. He's not a favorite of persons. He's not going to give it to one person and not give it to you. So keep praying for what you want. Keep asking God for what you want. But let's all just decide this Christmas season today to be in a position of gratefulness to God for what he has done, for where he's brought us, for what our lives look like. Let's just get in the position of being present, of being grateful for what God has given us. Let's pray.
00:05:37.180 --> 00:05:55.490
Dear Lord, as we prepare for the Christmas holiday. Lord, we just pray, Lord, that you prepare our hearts to be content, to be present in the moment, that and above all to be grateful to you, Lord, because you are good and your love endures forever. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
00:05:55.490 --> 00:06:17.170
