He Restores My Soul

He Restores My Soul

What does it mean for our souls to truly be restored when life gets overwhelming? In today’s episode, hosts Richelle and Chris Alessi invite us to explore the comforting truth found in Psalm 23:3—“He restores my soul.” Together, we’ll reflect on what it looks like to walk through seasons of loss, uncertainty, or brokenness, yet find hope in God’s promise to restore even our deepest parts. As a community, we’ll learn how acknowledging our needs, praying honestly, and welcoming God’s healing presence can transform our hearts.

Join us in prayer and devotion as we seek renewal and refreshment, believing together that God can restore every weary soul among us.

And today's civil is called He Restores My Soul.

00:00:08.160 --> 00:00:38.039
Hey there. We're the Alessi's, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Friday. Welcome to another episode and the closing of another week of My morning Devo.

00:00:38.039 --> 00:03:02.830
My name is Rachelle Alessi, and I just want to thank you guys so much for tuning in this week and being great and all your comments and your feedback. We really, really appreciate it. But we mostly hope that this week has truly blessed you and really helped you in the season that you are going through. And if you know anybody that is going through a season of loss or some tragedy, I just pray that you send them this podcast, share these things, because we know that the Lord can bring some, some comfort to them in this moment. And we hope that that's what we've done this week here with the word of God. And so, like, like I mentioned, my husband is with me and he helped me finish out this week and he's going to take us to a close today. So take it away. Well, one of the things that I love is looking at scripture through the lens of logic. Not for the sake of, you know, tearing scripture down, but for the sake of, of breaking it down and understanding it. And so in Psalm 23, you know, verse three, it says that he restores my soul. And we've heard that many times. But logically that means that if he is the restorer of the soul, that means that there are seasons where my soul will need to be restored. Yeah. So whether I saw this coming, this tragedy, whatever I'm experiencing, wherever that, what, whatever that was, whether it was my own sin, my own issue, God is not surprised that the soul of man needs to be restored. In fact, not one of us did anything to be born into a world that could break our soul. Our soul being the deepest parts of us. It's the source of our desire, the part of you that even wants, that's your soul. It's a mix of your heart and your mind. And yet it's somehow even deeper. It's the part of you that just wants and desires that soul. God can restore that. And we didn't do anything to live In a world where that can be broken. So logically, it's important to understand that whether it was this tragedy or something we caused, it is not a surprise to God that our soul is in shambles. But he is not surprised. Which means he can handle it. Yeah. Which means he can restore our very soul.

00:03:03.710 --> 00:03:35.460
And I'll be honest with you, there are times where I don't know how to pray for exactly what I need because I don't know what I need. And so that's when just quoting a scripture in prayer like that, lord, you restore my soul, is how we end up praying and get on that road to restoration. Lord, restore my soul. It's accepting the brokenness, but pleading with the Lord to put the pieces back together.

00:03:36.689 --> 00:04:12.800
So as we're ending this great week, if you're sitting here going through tragedy, I hope a you hear every word that we're saying with a little bit of fear and trembling. We're not coming from this place of expertise. We're simply trying to do our best to provide anything at all that provides a level of encouragement for you in the midst of this pain. But number two, the Lord is not in any way surprised that our soul is in shambles. He is not afraid of it. He's not having to go back to the drawing board to figure out how to restore your soul. He is the restorer of the soul.

00:04:13.360 --> 00:04:24.160
And if we simply ask, lord, restore my soul, I believe he begins to fix the broken pieces of the most inner being and he restores our soul.

00:04:24.720 --> 00:04:53.449
Amen. It is so beautiful to end with that verse today that the Lord restores our soul. A verse found in Psalm 23, one of the most beautiful psalms ever written, that even in that. In those moments, God puts verses in there that shows us how much he cares for when we are broken. Oh, yeah. And so, guys, thank you. Chris, thank you so much for helping me finish out this week.

00:04:53.800 --> 00:05:34.300
And so we want to pray for all of you before we go. So you have a blessed, blessed weekend. Pray for us. Father, we just come to you as we're moving out of this week and into the next. I just pray that this weekend would be one of restoration for them, that it would be one of rest. Lord, your word says you'll give us seasons of refreshment. I pray that this weekend would be that season of refreshment for those that need it and that every word we've spoken over these five days, Lord, I pray that you would speak in their heart of hearts that they'd see they're your words, not man's. It's your truth, not man's. And that you will in fact restore their soul in Jesus name. Amen.

00:05:34.300 --> 00:05:56.279
Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
