He Never Changes
Can you think of a time when everything around you was changing? In today’s episode, host Gaby Calatayud invites us to reflect on the reassuring truth that God never changes, no matter how much life shifts and transitions. Together, we'll explore Hebrews 13:8 and uncover why gratefulness for God’s unchanging character is a cornerstone for thankfulness, especially in seasons of transition. Whether you’re navigating new beginnings, big changes, or simply feeling the pace of the year, we’ll discover how God’s steady presence offers us a firm foundation.
Join our community as we come together in prayer and devotion, thanking God for His constant love and faithfulness in every season.

You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1391. Today's Devo is called He Never Changes. Hey there. We're the Alessi's, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:21.679 --> 00:00:53.859
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Well, happy November, everybody. It's good to be back on the My Morning Devo. This is your host, Gabby, officially Gabby Kaladiud. And it's an honor to be on here. Today marks, it's November 3rd. It marks my first, my one month anniversary to my husband. So this is really special that I get to do this. Yes. While I've been away, I have been.
00:00:54.100 --> 00:02:22.639
I got married, I went on my honeymoon and we just had the best time ever. But we're back home and we're ready to live married life here in Miami with the family. And now we're going into the holidays. And so the season is changing. We're going into Thanksgiving. We just had Halloween, and so now we're getting into the fun part of the year. And I just can't believe the year's almost over. I don't know about you, but we're here and we're in the month of November. And what we wanted to do for the Devo this month is we wanted to focus on gratefulness and thankfulness. You know, I love Thanksgiving because it gives us a time in our life to just stop what we're doing, not focus on what we need, not focus on what we want, but to focus on what we have. And I think this is so important. And thankfulness needs to begin in being thankful to God. When we think about all the things we're grateful for, the first thing that we need to stop and be grateful for is the Lord. And you know, sometimes if we're not careful when we think about why we're grateful for God or when we think about, you know, what God has done, it's easy for us to be thankful for what he's done for us, the things that he does. It's like sometimes we're grateful for his hand, right? But for this week, I want to pause and I want us to be grateful for and think about who he is, not just what he does.
00:02:23.199 --> 00:02:33.599
So this next week, I'm going to take us through being grateful for who God is, who he is to his people, but who he is to you and I. So we're going to dive in here.
00:02:34.639 --> 00:02:41.599
And Hebrews 13 says this Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
00:02:42.319 --> 00:02:52.960
This is a great reminder for you and I today that when we look at God and who he is, God's character is unchanging. God is the same.
00:02:53.680 --> 00:03:37.569
Who he was yesterday to you and I is who he is today. And who he is today is who he will be tomorrow and forever. Who he was back when he freed the Israelites from slavery. Who he was when he sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for us. Who he was when he took Jesus back, Jesus resurrected, and then he sent his Holy Spirit to the world. Who he was back then is who he is today. Who he was when he. When Jesus walked around the streets of Jerusalem and the streets of Capernaum and He healed people and he would. He would. Would set people free from their. From their problems and their sins and their chains and their depression. That is the same Jesus that we serve.
00:03:38.129 --> 00:03:48.849
And that's a great reminder for all of us, because we are in a world that is ever changing. We're in a family that's ever changing. We're in a system that's ever changing.
00:03:49.090 --> 00:03:56.389
We're in a job, a school, an environment, a country, a world. Everything around us is changing constantly.
00:03:56.710 --> 00:06:08.470
So this is the reminder that we all need today. Although the world is changing, God isn't. Although the season's changing, God isn't. You know, this. This takes me to. Even the season that I'm in right now, which is now going into marriage, this is one of the biggest transitions that I've ever experienced in my life, which was going from living on my own to now moving out of my family's house, my childhood home, all that I've known at a pretty seasoned age. I'm 25. I'm not 19 or 20, which I know a lot of people in the past usually get married at that age. Now I'm 25 years old and I'm going off and I'm living with my husband, and it's just the two of us. The season has changed a lot. Our emotions are changing. Our feelings towards the seasons change. One day it's so exciting, the next day you're kind of. Kind of. It's bittersweet, you know, you're missing what life used to be, or you don't miss it at all. And you're so super excited for what life is right now. You're constantly changing in seasons of transition. But through it all, God never changes. And this is the thing that we can hold on to, this is the promise that we can hold on to, is that God never changes. Hebrews 13 Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. And that's the promise we can hold on to today. Lord, we thank you that you never change. And I pray right now that you would just show yourself to each and every listener right now and show us how you are never changing. God, what you promised and what you said years ago to us. God, you are still going to keep that promise. God, your character doesn't change, your love doesn't change, your righteousness doesn't change. God, the time that you set up and put in place doesn't change. And for that we can trust in you because we live in a world that is constantly changing and that is not a firm foundation. But because you never change, that is a firm foundation that we can put our hope and our trust into. So we thank you for it. In Jesus name, Amen and Amen. So there you have it, your five minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
