00:00:00.160 --> 00:00:11.199
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1409. Today's episode is called Grateful for Provision. Hey there.
00:00:11.199 --> 00:00:35.329
We're the Alessi's a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Hello, everyone, and happy Thanksgiving.
00:00:35.329 --> 00:00:44.689
Wow, I can't believe it's Thanksgiving already. This is like the official kickoff to the holidays.
00:00:44.689 --> 00:01:40.939
Thanksgiving and then, boom, Christmas time. But in the meantime, before we get to Christmas, happy Thanksgiving. I hope you are having a wonderful time with your family, with your friends, with loved ones around you. I pray that if you are listening to this and you're like, I still don't have anywhere to go for Thanksgiving, I pray that that's not a thing. But I pray that all of a sudden a door opens up and boom, you have somewhere to go for Thanksgiving. But I pray that that's not the case because everyone should be spending time with family and friends on Thanksgiving. Today we're talking about being grateful for provision. And I love that we are talking about this on Thanksgiving Day. And I'm not going to hold you long, five minutes. Because I know we all want to be and have somewhere to be on Thanksgiving Day. So today's verse is found out of Philippians 4:19, and it says this, and my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Amen. So what does that mean?
00:01:40.939 --> 00:01:52.319
Everything we have, from family to food, to home to work, to opportunities within all of those things, it flows from God's generous heart.
00:01:52.319 --> 00:02:21.810
So our gratitude with all those things, being grateful to God, all those things that flow out of his heart, our gratitude turns from, okay, I have to do this, to, hey, I get to do this, because God has a great plan for me. God has a great provision for me. God's watching out for me. And I'm grateful that God has provision over me. I'm grateful that God has given me food, a family, a home, work opportunities. So it's not about having to go to work. It's not about having to provide.
00:02:21.810 --> 00:02:56.419
It's not about having to hang out with friends, even though I really don't want to. No. It's about getting to. Getting to go to work, getting to provide for my household, getting to put food on the table because God has provided all of that God has provision for over me. And I would even challenge you and say even in seasons of lack, even if today doesn't look like the greatest Thanksgiving ever, where can you turn that I have to into a I get to maybe you have to spend Thanksgiving with your in laws and like that's not your favorite thing to do.
00:02:56.419 --> 00:02:59.780
But maybe you could say, you know what, I'm married to an awesome person.
00:02:59.780 --> 00:04:14.360
I get to go to my in laws because if it wasn't for this amazing person I was married to, I wouldn't have in laws and this wouldn't be a situation. But I I am married to this amazing person. So I get to go to my in laws because of the person I am married to. So I just pray right now whether you're in a season of plenty or whether you're in a season of of very, very little, where can you turn those I have to into a season of I get to and I will just say this. I have seen people I know this sounds tacky, but I have seen people with everything and they did not get into the practice of turning those I have to into I get tos and they still have everything and they find something to complain about. So if you're in a season of lack, if you're in a season of little already, practice that. I'm grateful with what I have and I don't have to do anything. I get to do things. God has blessed me. It is a blessing to go somewhere. Maybe I don't want to go for Thanksgiving or it is a blessing to just to just be celebrating today because this is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it and remember my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
00:04:14.360 --> 00:04:21.720
So there is no lack in the kingdom of heaven. There is no lack in Christ Jesus. He will meet all your needs.
00:04:21.720 --> 00:04:34.649
Let us pray. God, we thank you so much for today, God and we just pray right now. Let us be thankful, God. Let us not have a I have to do this attitude, I have to get this done attitude.
00:04:34.649 --> 00:04:56.350
I have to get the turkey done by this time. Let us just remove all stress and let us find gratitude. Let us remove all duty and just find gratitude because we don't have to do anything just out of stress and needing to do anything. No, we get get to do things, Lord, because you're good and we're grateful for the life you've given us, the life you've provided us, God.
00:04:56.350 --> 00:05:30.069
And I pray God, even for me this Thanksgiving. God, and for every person listening to my voice. God, give us an attitude of thanksgiving and an attitude of we get to do this. Lord, In Jesus name I pray. Amen and Happy Thanksgiving everyone. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
