You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1406. Today's Devo is called Grateful for Life Itself.

00:00:08.960 --> 00:00:28.719
Hey there. We're the Alessi's, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven.

00:00:28.719 --> 00:00:43.200
This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Hello, everyone. Happy Monday. My name is Lauren Alessi and I will be your host for this week. And this week is Thanksgiving week. So happy Thanksgiving week, everybody.

00:00:43.200 --> 00:01:36.129
It is my honor to be your host for this week. And this whole month we've been talking about thankfulness. And I hope this week during Thanksgiving weekend, through celebrating with your family and friends, we could simply just break down the simplest things to be grateful for. Maybe things we take advantage of or we kind of forget to acknowledge, but we could just take five minutes a day, reflect on them and just be grateful for them and give thanks to God. So today we're going to focus on being grateful for life itself, the life that God gives us. Having air in our lungs, having a healthy life, being surrounded by family, friends, companions, just for just being alive. Waking up another day. So today's verse of the day is Psalm 18: 24. And it says this. This is the day the Lord has made.

00:01:36.129 --> 00:02:06.170
Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Every time you wake up, every sunrise. Let that be a reminder that God has chosen to give you another day. You know, I say we have healthy lives. We wake up healthy with air in our lungs. Some people may not wake up super healthy. Maybe you're struggling with a health issue right now, or maybe you're struggling because it's hard to get out of bed because you have a family member or friend affected by a health issue. But let it just be a reminder.

00:02:06.170 --> 00:02:09.930
Every day that God gives us to wake up another day.

00:02:09.930 --> 00:02:46.870
It is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. It's another chance, another day to love one another, to. To. To be creative with the gifts God has given us, to even rest with family and friends if you're on vacation or if you are with your family this week, to rest and be intentional about rest with them, to grow to. To challenge yourself. Every day is a new chance to grow in God. So even when the day feels normal, even when it feels ordinary, even when it feels typical or when it feels like there's nothing special about this random Monday.

00:02:46.870 --> 00:03:57.650
Just remember this Monday is the day that the Lord has made. So let us rejoice and be glad in it. Let us rejoice in the fact that God has made this Monday special. Let us rejoice in the fact and be grateful in the fact that God has given us air in our lungs to wake up this morning. Let us rejoice in the fact that God chose us to live another day. So even when they feel ordinary, let's remember that they are wrapped in godly intention, in divine intention. Because life itself is sacred because it comes from Him. God gives us life. God gives us breath. So life itself is sacred because it comes from God. So let's pray. Father, we thank you for the breath in our lungs. God, we thank you that we get to wake up another day. Whether we are headed to work, whether we are headed to school, whether we are on vacation or not, whether we are resting with our families, whether we have the whole week off or whether we just have a couple days off. Whatever it looks like, whether we're right now traveling to see family or stressed out to see family, whatever it looks like, God, let us just be grateful for the day that is ahead. Let us be grateful for the week that is ahead, God.

00:03:57.650 --> 00:04:16.189
And Lord, let us just remember to be grateful for the day that you have given us. And no matter what we're facing, whether it's health problems, whether it's perfectly healthy life, God, whether it is just a sucky day that we have ahead, Lord, or maybe we're facing family that we don't feel super happy to be around.

00:04:16.189 --> 00:04:33.899
Whatever it is, God, give us the strength to find something to be grateful for. Give us the strength to find thankfulness in another day, Lord. Give us the strength to be grateful for what you have given us. And we thank you God for another day. We thank you, thank you for the week ahead.

00:04:33.899 --> 00:05:05.639
We thank you for times to celebrate with people around us and this is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend.
