You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1407. Today's episode is called Grateful for Creation. Hey there.
00:00:10.560 --> 00:03:16.729
We're the Alessi's a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Hello everyone, my name is Lauren Alessi and I am your host for this week. I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving week so far, whether you have the whole week off, whether you just have Thursday and Friday off, whatever it looks like. I hope that you are in the Thanksgiving mood already and I hope that you are surrounded with wonderful family, wonderful friends, uplifting people, and I hope that you can really just sense the thankfulness and you're being intentional about being grateful. In this time and in this week, the whole month we've been talking about being grateful. And I really just want to hone in this week on the little things, like life itself, like God's creation, maybe things that we overlook, but things that we can be reminded of. Like, yes, I am so grateful for God's creation. Things that maybe surround us and we see all the time, but things that we can take for granted, just a reminder to be grateful for those things too. So today's scripture of the day is found in Romans 1:20. And it says this for since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made. So we're talking about God's creation since the beginning of the world, God's invisible qualities, his creation, and it wraps up his creation, wraps up his eternal power and divine nature. All of it has been clearly seen and it's been understood from what has been made. And when you think about the parts in the Bible that says even the rocks cry out to you, even, even the sun, the moon and the stars, they praise you because they're being understood from what has been made. They've been clearly seen and understood from that. We have to worship God too, that even creation, God's creation, cries out to him. I hear a lot of people say, oh, that's how God speaks to me, is through his creation. And to be honest, I don't think that's an individual thing. I think that's all of us. I think God uses his creation to speak to all of us. I could tell you there was a time that I lived in Hawaii for college for, like, a semester. And just being surrounded by oceans and mountains and flowers, I was like. I felt like I was in the presence of God every morning, every night, every afternoon, headed to college classes. I just felt God's creation and God's presence all around me. Why? Because God reveals himself through the world around us, through his creation, through. Through the people he creates, through the beauty that he creates, and through his wonderful nature, through his miraculous beauty, his eternal power and divine nature. So, yes, if you feel like that's how God speaks through me is through his creation, that is how God speaks to all of us.
00:03:16.729 --> 00:03:38.009
And that's how it should be. And here's the thing. Let us not take that for granted. Let us not feel like, oh, it's just an everyday thing. Let us remember to be grateful for his creation. And I could tell you, I live in Miami, it's a very busy city. And sometimes you feel like God's creation has been overpowered by man.
00:03:38.009 --> 00:04:59.759
Like even the beach, the ocean, God's creation, even that has been overtaken by man. And now it's just full of people. And it's not really a place that is God's creation anymore. It's just overthrown by man. But even when you get some time to be alone in nature, some time to be alone in God's creation, just take a minute to be grateful for God's creation around you. Take a moment to just be grateful that. That not everybody is surrounded by God's creation and the beauty of God's creation. And if you are that person that feels like, okay, God speaks to me through his creation. Be grateful for that. Be grateful that you are in tune with the spirit. To feel like God speaks to you through his divine creation, through his eternal power and divine nature, like Romans says. And again, let us not take for granted the beauty and the creation around us. And. And we'll get more into it this week, but even the people around us, that's God's creation as well. And let's not take that for granted. So let's pray. Lord, thank you for the way you speak through creation, God. And thank you that your creation is so utterly and amazingly beautiful, God, that it's not boring to look at and it's not ugly and it's not annoying to look at, but, Lord, it just never ceases to amaze us, never ceases to surprise us every single time, Lord.
00:04:59.759 --> 00:05:10.939
And Lord, open our eyes to see your creation just every day. And in the ordinary. Open our eyes God, to things maybe we've never seen before, but let us recognize it as your creation.
00:05:10.939 --> 00:05:14.899
And we just thank you Lord for the things you are creating even now.
00:05:14.899 --> 00:05:36.759
We thank you Lord for your creative hands in your creation. In Jesus name, Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
