God Is Not Tired

Good morning, everybody. Welcome back to My Morning Devotional Podcast. My name is Rochelle Alesi, and I've been your host this week. Um, it's Thursday, we're almost there. Um, and I hope that you're having a really, really blessed week. And I hope that this week you've allowed the Lord to really work in you. And I really hope that you have really heard the Lord this week as he has some beautiful promises in the word for you. So take hold of them, believe them wholeheartedly in your heart because the Lord loves you and he doesn't want you just to live an okay life. He truly wants you to live blessed, and that doesn't just mean blessed by having things, but blessed in your soul as you have a beautiful relationship with him and you get to experience him every single day. So today I want to read from Isaiah 40, 28-29, and it says, The Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow weary or tired, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. This is such a beautiful verse. He will not grow tired or weary. We all experience tiredness, we all get weak. And we even talked about that a little bit, I think, on Tuesday or Wednesday. But it says here that the Lord does not grow tired and weary. So, guys, if the Lord does not grow tired and weary, we can trust that he has us. When we feel tired and weak and we don't see an end, the Lord is not, the Lord is still at work. We serve the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. What does that even mean? The ends of the earth. I wish I could tell you, but all I know is that it's this is an adjective adding to the everlasting God. The writer, Isaiah, is telling us here the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth, he will not grow tired of weary. It actually he's trying to put into words the bigness of God because our minds could never even comprehend how big and everlasting our Lord is, because we have limits, we're limited. Even humans have an end date, and that creates a limit in our minds. There always a finish line, but then we enter our everlasting life with the Lord. But the Lord is everlasting. How beautiful is that that the creator of the ends of the earth will not grow tired or weary. His understanding, nobody could even understand because he's all knowing, he knows it all, every knowledge, everything the Lord knows. And because of that, he's trying to tell us how amazing and big God is. Because I don't even think we can fully comprehend as we continue to read this. He says, the Lord is all of this, so you can believe that he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. The writer here is showing you how big God is and everything he holds and everything he knows as proof of why we can believe that he can give you strength, that he can fill you with power, that he can fill you with joy, that he can fill you with peace, that he can give you hope. We talked about all these things this week. So we can lose control and trust in him, believing that trusting in him is never a waste of time, that the Lord is always at work, that he will make your path straight. These are all things that we've read this week that the Lord wrote in his word for you. These are promises he has for you, and Isaiah, an old testament book, is telling us the Lord is so big, he's never tired, he can never be physically tired. I wish, okay. I have two children right now. I have a newborn and have a three-year-old. My three-year-old still doesn't sleep amazing. My newborn sleeps like an angel. I don't understand, but I still don't sleep anymore. I wake up in the mornings and I'm like, I could use another eight hours of sleep. I'm tired. I get weary. Guys, the Lord never experiences that feeling. He will never grow tired or weary. This is even further proof. We can really trust him, but we can also find rest in him. We can find everything we need today in him. We sometimes look for so many things, but the Lord is here for you. So please believe in your heart today that he will give you strength. And we've talked about before, strength might not look the same for everybody, but he will give you exactly what you need and exactly the strength that you need. It might be through peace, it might be through joy, it might be through somebody making you laugh today, and that gives you strength. But the Lord will give you that strength and he will increase you in power if you are weak. The Lord is with you. He is here to give you all the things you need. So believe him and trust him today. Alrighty? Let's pray. Dear Father God, thank you because you're the everlasting God. Father, I know that we might not be able to understand the greatness of your power, of who you are and your bigness, Lord. I know that we might not fully be able to comprehend. But allow us today to experience, Father, even a glimpse of that, Father. Because everything that you are is everything that we need and everything that we want, Lord. You are the everything in our lives. And despite our moments, good or bad, Lord, you still are the one that we want to delight in. And though the writer here is trying to convince us of how amazing you are, and that's why we get to trust you, we tell you today we trust you because we love you. Because we have seen you act in our lives before. So not only do we have proof in our Bible, but we have proof in our personal lives of how good you are. And so today we believed your word that you will give us strength. We believe in that and we take it to our hearts. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
