What does it look like to truly give from the heart during the holiday season? In today's episode, Richelle Alessi shares a heartfelt message about generosity, reminding us that this time of year is not just about receiving, but about blessing others and reflecting Christ's love. Together, we'll explore how we can make this season meaningful—not just by making wish lists, but by intentionally refreshing those around us and supporting those who need it most. We'll hear how giving transforms both the giver and the receiver, and why acts of kindness create lasting memories for our families and community.

Let’s come together for this special devotional, joining our voices in prayer as we seek joy, purpose, and connection through giving this Christmas.

You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1420.

Today's Devo is called Give this Holiday Season.

00:00:08.880 --> 00:00:26.949
Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven.

00:00:27.190 --> 00:01:11.560
This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Friday. Hope you guys are having an incredible week. My name is Rachelle Alessi, and it was my privilege being with you guys this week. This is the last time you'll hear from me this year. But I'll be back in 2026. And 2026 is going to be an amazing year. But I want to personally thank you for listening to our episodes, for sharing, for being part of our community, and for any of you that found us this year, or for any of you that have been with us from the beginning, thank you. And I hope that this year's truly blessed us. I know that you guys have blessed us in so many, many ways.

00:01:11.719 --> 00:01:41.540
We love to hear your stories, where you're from, what you've been going through. We thank you for your honesty. And we're here to do 2026 together. And we promise that it's going to be an amazing, amazing year. I know my sisters in law and I are ready for 2026 and for everything that God has for my morning Devo. And all of that is part because of you and you being part of our podcast. So thank you so much.

00:01:41.859 --> 00:02:42.479
And I want to end today with a really awesome topic. And it's about giving this holiday season. And I know we hear it all the time in our church, actually right now is called the Big give season. And every November and December of the year, we make it about not just receiving, but about giving. November is a big month, how we go out of the way to give. And December we make it about how we're going to bless God because of everything that he has done for us. It's so funny because sometimes in this season we get so focused also on the things we want because this is the maybe besides our birthday, right, the time of the year where we can make a list and get things that we want. And that's wonderful and we should do that. We should definitely be thinking about what you want. But let me know if you struggle like me.

00:02:43.560 --> 00:03:05.479
Where during Christmas time or all year long, there's all these things you want. And then your birthday and Christmas comes and people are asking you for a Christmas list and you can't think of a single thing. If that's you, let me know in the comments so I don't feel so alone. But back to our podcast and about giving. There is a verse in The Bible, Proverbs

00:03:05.639 --> 00:03:19.969
25, that says a generous person will prosper. Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. And this holiday season, let's refresh others.

00:03:20.370 --> 00:03:38.860
Let's give. The Bible says that the Lord loves a cheerful giver, that it is better to give than it is to receive. And these are things the Bible says. So I encourage you today in this holiday season, how are you blessing others?

00:03:39.500 --> 00:03:47.099
How are you going out of the way to refresh others, to make it about other people, about blessing others?

00:03:47.580 --> 00:05:54.920
And maybe in a hard time, maybe you know, somebody whose holidays aren't so happy, maybe we go out of the way to make those, those people's holiday different and fun and, and just show them the love of Christ. Because when we give and bless others, we truly are acting like our Father in heaven, like Christ, we are acting in the things that he is because he came to this earth and he gave himself so we can give a better life. He knew what it meant to give. He gave himself. And so how about this holiday season we demonstrate the love of Christ by blessing others and by giving and making this a holiday season where we make memories when we finish our responsibilities, when we are winning our holiday season and our mornings and our present with our family and our friends. And on top of that, we say we're going to make it about blessing other people as well. And in all of that, we're going to be able to see such a full, fun Christmas and we're going to be able to experience the best Christmas yet. I know every, sometimes, every year, we're like, it's the best Christmas. But I'm truly believing that this year, 2025, we will have the best Christmas yet because we're going to choose to have the best Christmas yet because we're not going to let anything get in the way was making memories with their family and truly blessing others. So, guys, thank you so much. Let's pray together. Father, thank you so much for the opportunity of another beautiful Christmas. I thank you for the beautiful year that it's been. But I know that there's so much more ahead. And so we also want to make it, Father, about blessing others, lead us into the people that we need to be blessing the people that you want us to just lift up this holiday season. The people that we need to be praying for this holiday season. Father, lead us to those people.

00:05:55.800 --> 00:06:03.319
And also, Father, we bless you this holiday season because it all started with you and the gift of Christ.

00:06:03.639 --> 00:06:29.670
If it wasn't for that, Lord, we would not be here, but we also wouldn't have this wonderful time. So everything, Lord points back to you and we thank you for it all. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
