You are listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1367. Today's Devo is called Flawless Word of God. Hey there.
00:00:10.480 --> 00:01:04.859

That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Hello, everyone, my name is Lauren Alessi and I will be your host for this week. And I hope you're having a wonderful Tuesday morning. And today's the last day of September. It's September 30th, and we have done this whole month out of the book of Proverbs. And today we're going to bring it to a wonderful close. And I hope you've really enjoyed this month of Proverbs. If it's encouraged you, if it has uplifted you, please leave us some comments. Leave us a message. We always love hearing from our listeners just to know that it has indeed blessed you.
00:01:05.579 --> 00:02:07.489
So today we'll be reading out of, you guessed it, Proverbs, chapter 30. And this is actually a very interesting book of the Bible and chapter because it's kind of unique. And as I had mentioned when I did the first week of Proverbs, like Proverbs is like a manual to life for how to live a really good life. And then we get to Proverbs 30 and 31, and it seems to have different authors. So before it's Solomon, and then in 30 and 31, you see that it's different. It's written by two different men. So in Proverbs 30, it's written by Agur. Ag R. I think that's how you pronounce it. And it just takes on a different tone. And I always recommend we do one verse a day. But go home, read the whole chapter. It doesn't take long. One verse a day is not enough. So go home and I encourage you, do some studying, get it in your spirit, and listen to the whole chapter. But anyways, the verse of the day is this, Proverbs 35. And it says this.
00:02:08.129 --> 00:02:33.979
Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him. I'm gonna say that again. Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him. And I really love this chapter and this verse specifically because when you continue reading, you get this tone from this man.
00:02:33.979 --> 00:03:03.889
Agur, who is simply here just admitting, yes, I have wisdom, but I don't know everything. And he actually admits to his own lack of wisdom in life and his own lack of knowledge in his life. But what he does, and it's like we talked about yesterday, he takes a lowly position and he's like, but I don't need to know everything because I have the Word of God, and every word of God is flawless. And He's a shield to me and I take refuge in him, so I don't need to know everything.
00:03:05.250 --> 00:04:07.669
And this is true humility, and this is true wisdom. This is the true beginning of the fear of the Lord. And I love this verse because it's sort of bringing home the whole book of Proverbs and the whole month of what we talked about. Because true wisdom is recognizing our own limits and just totally relying on God's flawless word and on God's flawless ways. Because everything that the Lord says, everything that the Lord does is totally flawless. If you've experienced a miracle in your life, if you've experienced God come through for you, you could try to search for a flaw. There will not be a flaw. God looks at the timing. God looks at every little detail, every word he says, and everything that he does is completely flawless. And in a world that's so full of different opinions and theories and a lot of noise, it can be so easy to get caught up in different opinions and what the world has to say and even what other Christians have to say. And here's what we need to point back to. Here is true wisdom, the word of God.
00:04:08.389 --> 00:04:55.300
We don't need to have our own opinions. We don't need to have our own theories. No, no, no. We just need to take anchor in the word of God because the Word of God is flawless and he is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. So sometimes do you feel like you have to have all the answers? Because maybe that's what wisdom may come off, like in this world, like being the smartest person in the room, like having all the answers, like knowing everything when it comes to politics or when it comes to, I don't know, the, the school your kid goes to or, or even like celebrity drop drama. I don't know. Do you sometimes get caught up in that worldly wisdom of having to know everything and having to have every answer? I just want to advise that you lay that mindset down to the Lord and just submit that to him.
00:04:55.300 --> 00:05:24.149
Because we don't need to have all the answers. God already has. All the answers and every word of God is flawless. And when we need to take refuge in him, he's a shield to us. When we need to run to him because we don't have all the answers, He's a shield to us. So we don't need to get caught up in worldly wisdom. We just need to seek out God's wisdom. So in this whole month of Proverbs, this whole month of September, I hope it's blessed you. But let us pray out with a true word of wisdom.
00:05:24.959 --> 00:06:12.600
Dear Lord, we thank you so much for your word, God, that it is strong, it is convicting, Lord, it is encouraging, it's uplifting, it's edifying, it's everything. Lord, you don't just want us to be faith filled. You don't just want us to be strong and courageous. But Lord, you want us to live wise, long, rich, fulfilling lives, God. And we thank you for that, God, you want us to live our lives to our fullest potentials, Lord. So Lord, we pray that you bring us low in humility, God. And Lord, we pray that Lord, you help us recognize our own limitations and that we don't have to have all the answers, Lord, we could just rely on your flawless word and your flawless ways, Lord. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
