Richelle AlessiGood morning, everybody, and happy Monday. My name is Rochelle Alesi, and I get to be your host this week. Um, we are in August, and honestly, I cannot believe we're here already on the second half of the year. And so as I was thinking of what we could share this week, I wanted to do a theme that could really help us carry through the end of the year because we got six more months. Let's make them count, let's make it the best half of the year ever. And um, let's do it with the Lord. How does that sound? Um, I want to talk about, I actually picked verses that talk about when we go through something, but what the Lord does. And I thought this was so important because in the past I hit topics and I talk a lot about what we should do when we're going through some of these hard times. And I found it interesting that I was as I was researching some of this, it just verses that showed me what the Lord does in these moments kept popping up. And I'm big on what can I do? But it's so beautiful to go and see what the Lord can do because ultimately our confidence, our trust is in the Lord, and he has all the power and we trust in him. So, how about we take some time this week to go over some of the things that the Lord promises to do in our lives when we're going through some hard times? Today I want to read uh Romans 15, 13, and it says, May the Lord of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Guys, I'm gonna read this again, and please open up your hearts as you read this verse and let the Lord speak to you. May the Lord of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. As I read this verse, I really just I was filled with hope, what this verse says, and it was so interesting because it says that the Lord will fill you with joy and peace as you trust in him. What this shows you is that this is a process, and it was so beautiful because we all, as we're listening today, or if you're watching, we can all relate to going through something in life, whether it's happened, whether it's happening, or it will happen. We know that there are moments when we really have to trust the Lord because we don't see a way, what we're feeling is really overwhelming, we're just a little confused, there is no clarity, and we all we could do is turn to the Lord. There's no other option because you go to the one who can do it all because you really feel that out of control. But what I love about this is as you put the trust in, as you put your trust in the Lord, the Lord promises to fill you with joy, not just give you some. The Lord says, I will fill you with joy and peace as you trust in me. And even in those moments, he says, You will overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will come into your life, the word of the Lord will start to speak to you, he will share things with you that will just fill you with hope, that will help you get through whatever you're going through as you're trusting in him. And what I love about this, guys, is that it truly shows us that putting our trust in the Lord is never a waste of time. It never is. Because the Lord promises to fill us with joy, to fill us with peace, and to make sure that we have hope that overflows to where you can even be a blessing to other people in your life. So just remember today, putting your trust in the Lord is never a waste of time. It is actually the only option you have to have a beautiful life. So let's pray today. Dear Father God, I want to thank you for all the promises you give us, Lord. You do not just say get through life alone. You came and you gave us all these beautiful promises so we can get through hard situations, learn from you, and even get to experience you in a brand new way. So I just pray for your joy and for your peace to fill us today and bring some clarity and hope as we get through some of these things. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
