That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five-minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast.

Good morning, everybody, and happy Friday. We have made it to Friday. My name is Rochelle Alesi, and it's been a privilege being with you this week. And um, I hope that the book of James has challenged you like it's challenged me. But we continue the study of James next week. So please come back on Monday. I promise you you won't regret it. But as far as this week, comment below. What are some things that have stood out to you as you've read James? Is it your first time reading it, or have you read it before? Because reading it this time around for me has been like fresh. It's like I've never read it before. And the Lord has truly blessed me, and I believe that He's blessing you as well with His word. So let's jump into today as we finish James chapter one, and we're picking it up on verse 26, and it says, Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and as faultless is this to look after the orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. So this is my takeaway. Real faith is revealed in your words, your actions, and how you care for others. It is all of it. Your words, your actions, and how you care for others. I believe that in the Bible we find the perfect example of this, and that is Jesus. His words, his action, and his love and care for others truly showed us the love of Christ and what our religion is all about. Jesus showed this to us so perfectly. But guys, the way that we speak, the way that we act, and the way that we care for others, the way that we speak to others, the way that we even think about others reveals our religion to many other people. It is telling us here that what we say sometimes is not just the all, it is the way we say it, how we act, and how we care. The Bible is showing us here how to truly live out our Christianity. Sometimes many of us have come from different religion backgrounds or you've come from a religious home, and certain things that um you've grown up in maybe for a while made you a little confused about your faith. Because you saw people saying one thing and acting another way. Um, and I know that could create confusion, but the Bible is telling us today exactly how it's to be, and that is that we're honest all around. The way we talk, we speak, and the way that we care for others. That truly shows Christianity, and Jesus modeled that for us. So as we finish James today, the way that this chapter ends is by showing us how we truly live out this Christianity, which is by how we speak, how we act, and how we care and love for others. So let's take that into next week. Let's change the way that we speak. Maybe we just have to edit a couple of our words. Maybe the way we do things so when we show up, maybe we just need to be a little kinder. We need to be more positive. We need to be godly the way that we're saying things, the way that we're presenting ourselves. It has to be godly. And maybe we need to do kind things for other people. Go the extra mile. Be there for others, be loving. Bring dinner, do something that shows the love, the care that you have for others. We don't have to be perfect, but these things are things that we can do today. And it's laid out for us right here. So let's do it together. Let's be kind. Let's use our words to our actions and how we care for others to truly show our Christianity. Let's pray. Father God, thank you for you being the perfect example of this. Father, I pray that you will help us this week that is coming up, that you will help us with our words, that you will show us where our actions need to align with your word and the people that we need to be caring for, the way that we should be caring for others, whether that be through actions or through our words, Lord, that our life, that life that we're living out will resemble you in every area. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
