Faith Leads To Obedience

Faith Leads To Obedience

Have you ever wondered how faith can guide us into true obedience, even when the path ahead isn’t clear? In today’s episode, we join Richelle Alessi and the Alessi Family as we explore the idea that faith leads to obedience, reflecting on the story of Abraham from Hebrews 11:8. Together, we’ll discover what it looks like to trust in God’s higher ways, take that next step forward, and answer His call—no matter how unknown the destination may feel. We’ll talk about putting our trust into action and how, even without all the answers, obedience can change our lives for the better.

Come along for this five-minute daily devotional as we pray, grow, and walk in faith together—trusting that God’s ways are higher and His promises are true. Let’s unite as a community in seeking Him, opening our hearts to both His word and His direction.

You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1257. Today's Devo is called Faith Leads to Obedience. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.263 --> 00:00:35.621
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning, everybody. Happy Tuesday. I hope you guys are having a wonderful day so far.

00:00:35.725 --> 00:00:50.293
My name is Rachelle Alessi and I get to be with you this week. And like I mentioned yesterday, I promised that I would keep the episodes this week. Five minutes. I wanted to do some Bible verses that we could apply to our everyday life. And

00:00:50.381 --> 00:00:53.743
8.

00:00:53.942 --> 00:01:22.549
And this actually kind of leads to from what we talked about yesterday. And so yesterday we talked about God's ways being higher, his thoughts being higher. And so because of that, we can rest and we can know and trust the Lord that everything's going to work out. And so I think now there's the next step to that, that when we now believe that now we actually enter into obedience. When I read this verse on

00:01:22.590 --> 00:01:37.573
8 that says, by faith, Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was going to receive as an inheritance, and he went out not knowing where he was going.

00:01:37.742 --> 00:01:45.046
That verse just encouraged me because it made me realize that we know and we've heard it say, that faith is an action.

00:01:45.197 --> 00:02:45.542
Faith is something that we actively act on upon that we trust the Lord, that we actually take obedience because of our faith, because we trust God, because we know that God's ways and thoughts are higher. Now we can say, because we know this now we can put something into action, and that is our faith. And then our faith will lead into obedience. Abraham answered the call of God and he went to a place that he had never gone before. It's not like he could see it. It's not like he could hear it. It's not like, you know, these days we have Instagram and our phones where if the Lord called us to a place, we would, like, look up this name. Like, if the Lord was calling me to Miami, I would look up what Miami looks like. The truth is that these people did not have that. They had to fully rely on the voice of the Lord. And what they knew that the Lord had told them and they obeyed him.

00:02:45.725 --> 00:03:34.532
And that was just an encouragement to me to remember that one. Once I know that God's ways and thoughts are higher, I can have the faith to obey him and to do the things that he's asked me to do and to trust him that these things will all work out. Because Abraham didn't know, but he went anyways. He did it. And we know that the story of Abraham is told to this day because of his act of obedience and the faith that he had in the Lord. And so I encourage you today, like Abraham, to have faith. And let that be the result now of obedience. To obey the Lord, to obey His Word. Even if you don't understand or you might not fully agree with what the Word is saying, obey it.

00:03:34.716 --> 00:04:14.502
You don't have to fully understand to to obey. You just have to obey. And I promise you that when you obey the Lord, that reward will be so much greater, the fruit of your life will be so much greater. Because when we obey God, we're saying we trust you. I'm not going to trust what I see or what I hear or what I know. I'm going to trust that the Lord can see higher. He knows better. And so I'm going to be obedient to His Word. Word. And so let's pray. Dear Father God, we just want to thank you for your word. We want to thank you because you have laid it out for us and all we have to do is open it, listen to it and obey it.

00:04:14.605 --> 00:04:51.862
Because time after time in the Bible it's been proven true that you are good and that you are faithful. And so because of that, to this day we can say we can trust the Lord. We can have faith to be obedient towards you and to do the things that you've called us to do because your ways are higher. Lord, in Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend.
