00:00:32.020 --> 00:00:38.340
Welcome back to My Morning Devo. My name is Rachelle Lessie and I really hope that this week has blessed you.
00:00:39.380 --> 00:00:53.939
We are in the theme of grateful for what God has done. And what we've done this week was we just gone back and, and, and really thank the Lord for the amazing things that he has done for us. And I am so excited for today.
00:00:54.450 --> 00:01:56.620
And it's funny because yesterday I said I was thankful for my church and we're talking about the establishment of the church today. Maybe I should have saved that one for today, but I'm excited for this one because I love the church. I truly love the church. And I would not be who I am without the beautiful church that I am a part of. And I get the privilege to work at this church and be here all the time. And I found my church when I was 13 or like 14 years old and I am 27 now. So I've been in this church for half of my life basically. And guys, I would not want to be in any other place. And the Lord has blessed me with such a beautiful church and I'm excited to talk about the gift of the church and, and I encourage you to go listen to the song. It's called Kings of Kings by Brick by Brooke. That you would forgive me. And it's. It's a beautiful song that just talks about the creation of the church.
00:01:57.180 --> 00:02:32.658
And I, I truly love this song so much and I'm excited to just get into it. So let's get into it. The verse I want to read today is Ephesians 2, 1922. And it says, consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household. And in him you are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his spirit. I love this because it could express the gratitude for belonging.
00:02:33.460 --> 00:03:40.300
The church as a family is a dwelling place for the. For. For God. And we have heard that the church is God's house and it is truly God's house. And we talked about the gift of the Holy Spirit and how he lives in us. We've talked about the forgiveness of sins. We've talked about God's creation in God and so many things. And today we are talking about the church. What I love about this is that the Lord not only forgave us and gave us the victory and now gave us the Holy Spirit. On top of that, he gave us a place where we belong. And the church is that place. As believers, we come together and we are being built together. And we're building his house together. We can experience the Lord anywhere. But there's something when you're in the house of God together, worshiping him, serving him together, and the Lord shows up. And he just shows up in a way where you get to express, experience his presence. Guys.
00:03:41.020 --> 00:03:48.219
It's amazing when we experience God on our own, in our own room, but it's amazing when we experience God in the house of God as well.
00:03:49.099 --> 00:03:52.620
You know, some of us might have family members that are not Christian.
00:03:53.020 --> 00:04:04.449
Some of us might have friends who are not Christian. But when you come to the house of God, you are with your family, your spiritual family, and God is there.
00:04:04.689 --> 00:04:08.530
And you're part of something beautiful. You're part of what the Lord is doing.
00:04:09.090 --> 00:04:20.449
And we cannot diminish the power of the church and what the Lord wants to do in his church, because this is his house and the Lord's priority.
00:04:20.529 --> 00:04:35.339
It is his house. He cares for the house of God. He cares for us individually, but then he cares for us as a group, as his children, as. And it's beautiful to come to the church and see the miracles the Lord is doing in somebody else.
00:04:35.500 --> 00:05:23.730
And that edifies your faith. Don't let the enemy ever tell you I don't belong in the church because I don't do things like them. And I can do Christianity by myself because we can't. We can't do it alone. We have the Holy Spirit, the helper. But on top of that, the Lord is providing a place that we belong. We belong in the house of God. It's not just a thing we get to do as Christians. It's where we belong. In his presence, worshiping him together. And sometimes I wonder in heaven. You know, you hear about worship going on forever. It's not people doing it alone. It's angels doing it together. In the same way here on Earth, we get to do this together as Christians.
00:05:23.889 --> 00:05:31.410
He came, died and resurrected and gave the disciples the task of build my church.
00:05:31.569 --> 00:06:04.810
Which means this is from the Lord, and I'll read you this verse one more time now because I want you to really get it. And it says, consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God people and also members of his household. And in him you are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his spirit. So, guys, we get to build a dwelling that God lives in?
00:06:05.209 --> 00:06:08.810
Yes, in our bodies, but also through the church.
00:06:09.370 --> 00:06:53.949
So I encourage you, if you have your church, give your all to your church. Because that means you're giving your all to the house of the Lord, and that's for him. And if you don't find one, ask God to show you which is the church that you belong in. Because you belong in the church, because that is God's house. So let's pray, Father. God, thank you for the gift of the church. Lord, where you dwell, we don't have to do life alone. You say that that's where we belong. We have a place where we belong. And that's your house serving you, praising you, giving you our all. And in return, Father, you bless us. You edify us. You're building us together.
00:06:54.589 --> 00:06:58.029
You promise to be with us and you show up. In your presence.
00:06:59.069 --> 00:07:29.079
We get to experience you and feel you and see you and see your miracles and see your goodness through others, through us, and through all of us together. And so I pray, Father, that today we don't take the church for granted, but that we take it as a responsibility to build the church, to build your house. Because that's where you dwell. And that means, Father, if that's where you dwell, you deserve the best. You deserve the best house.
00:07:29.240 --> 00:07:40.050
And we get to build that house with the help of the Holy Spirit and all the people around us. Thank you, Jesus, for the gift of the church. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
00:07:40.689 --> 00:08:01.649
