Don't Forget To Serve

Don't Forget To Serve

What does it look like to truly serve others in our everyday lives? In today’s episode, host Stephanie Muiña invites us to reflect on the heart of service as we conclude our series on “what not to forget.” Together, we’ll explore what it means to follow Jesus’ example—not seeking to be served, but to serve those around us, whether in small acts of kindness at home, in our communities, or within our churches. Along the way, Stephanie shares her favorite worship songs to encourage us as we enter the weekend with a spirit of gratitude and humility.

Join us as we dive deeper into the meaning of service, drawing inspiration from Matthew 20:28, and commit to putting others’ needs before our own. Let’s come together in prayer and devotion, asking God to shape our hearts in service and love.

00:00:00.080 --> 00:00:21.440
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1325. Today's Devo is called Don't Forget to Serve. Hey there. We're the Alessi's, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.679 --> 00:01:28.019
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Happy Friday everyone. My name is Stephanie Munya and I am so excited to conclude our series on what not to forget. And I pray that this encouraged you. I pray that it empowered you. And if it did, please tell us in the comments DM us on Instagram and let us know how this has ministered to you. I love doing these series. My sister Gabby, she did one of these series on her own. My brother Chris and my sister in law Rochelle, they did a series and it's the perfect way to string all of these topics together. So let's bring it to a conclusion here. But before I do that, I really love on Fridays to share with you guys some of the worship songs that I've been listening to. So I have a few that I wanted to share before I get into our topic. And there's three songs that I know you all will love. I have just become an Abby Gamboa fan. I know it's crazy. I'm way, way, way late to I'm late to the boat. I think that's the phrase. I'm late on this one.

00:01:28.180 --> 00:02:05.469
Abby Gamboa, the song Pure by her is so, so beautiful. Go listen to that song right now. Just get into your prayer time, get into your prayer room, open up your bible and listen to that song Pure by Abby Gamboa. It will change your worship. It'll change your mindset on worship. She has another song called center and it's a collab with Bethel Music and Abby Gamboa. Oh my gosh, it's so good again in your prayer time. Go listen to it. And here's a third recommendation. It's a full album and it's by this band called Isla Vista Worship.

00:02:05.549 --> 00:02:24.069
They have new stuff coming out, but you got to listen to their old stuff because Humongo is so good. Isla Vista I S L A V I S T A worship. Go check it out. You will love those songs. I'll keep so searching for more music to share with you all. But take that into your weekend

00:02:24.069 --> 00:02:46.259
28 in the NIV version it says, just as the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many, I want to close out the weekend talking about this. If anybody here struggles with knowing what they were meant to do with their life, consider this.

00:02:47.139 --> 00:03:20.349
Jesus could have entered this world with angels and an army, with a crown and a robe, but he came humbly as a baby and then he grew up and he served to heal people and to preach the gospel and to wash people's feet and to serve. If you're confused about your calling today, just copy what Jesus did and serve. Serve your family, serve your church, serve your pastors, serve your spouse. And that's not me asking you to throw out everything you want to achieve in life. Hear my heart.

00:03:21.069 --> 00:03:24.189
But during the day, consider the needs of others.

00:03:24.830 --> 00:03:43.240
Have a heart that says yes to whatever your leader or pastor asks of you. Give your spouse the first bite of your food and the last bite. Get up and make them dessert at night. Take your child to somewhere they would enjoy this weekend. Call your friend and ask them how they're doing.

00:03:43.719 --> 00:03:50.840
Call your church office and ask them how you can help them this week. Make a cup of coffee for your boss.

00:03:51.319 --> 00:03:58.039
Buy your pastor's dinner or lunch. This week. Make service a part of who you are.

00:03:58.919 --> 00:04:09.729
Because the world isn't going to encourage that. It's going to promote having a bunch of followers. It's going to promote trying to make new money, lots of money. It's going to promote trying to find the biggest house.

00:04:10.050 --> 00:04:58.769
It's going to promote a lot of self service. And although there is a part of your life that you need to grow to enjoy your life, just don't forget service to others. Because Jesus came down here to serve, not to be served. And let's mimic that this weekend. Let's pray everyone. God, we just thank you for this week and for blessing us God with this topic of things to not forget. We fear you God. We want to pursue holiness. God. We want to be a servant before we are anything else. So God, change our hearts, speak to us and encourage us to walk in boldness this weekend, Father, and to put other needs before our own and allow us to have fun this weekend. Allow us to walk in your spirit.

00:04:58.930 --> 00:05:29.060
Allow us to see you in the small things and the big things and just bless us this weekend as we follow you and in Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of Heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend, leave a comment or review for us on the app you're using right now. Until tomorrow. We pray that your latte is strong, but your love for Jesus is stronger.
