Don't Forget The Victory

What do we do when it feels like darkness is winning all around us? In today’s episode, host Stephanie Muiña invites us to reflect on the victories we can easily overlook, even as we face challenging and troubling times. Drawing inspiration from Psalm 37, we’ll explore why holding onto the knowledge of Jesus’ victory is essential for our daily walk of faith. Together, we’ll discover why we don’t have to be discouraged by what we see in the world, and how we can stand strong—trusting in God’s ultimate triumph over evil.
Let’s gather as a community to pray for courage, remain steadfast in our devotion, and celebrate the victory we have in Christ.

00:00:00.080 --> 00:00:21.199
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1324. Today's Devo is called don't forget the Victory. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:21.440 --> 00:00:54.890
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Happy Thursday, everyone. My name is Stephanie Moyna and I am so excited to dive into today's devo again. I am continuing on the topic of things to not forget as a Christian, so let's dive into this. Psalm 37, verse 1 through 4. It says in the NIV version, Do not fret because of those who are evil, or be envious of those who do wrong.
00:00:55.049 --> 00:01:02.170
For like the grass, they will soon wither, like green plants, they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good.
00:01:02.490 --> 00:01:38.640
Dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Amen. Oh, my gosh. One time, you know, my husband and I, we were watching a show and I knew how the episode was going to end, but he didn't. So every twist and turn had him on the edge of his seat. It was hilarious. And he would get so upset when the bad guy was winning. But I knew, I knew not to get emotionally swayed by it because I knew at the end the good guy was gonna come back. But I couldn't tell my husband that. Cause I didn't wanna spoil it for him.
00:01:39.599 --> 00:01:53.930
And at the end, when the good guy won, my husband was so pumped and he was sitting in shock on the couch. And I was so pumped to finally see him. His reaction, and it was my favorite because it was just hilarious to see how he responded.
00:01:54.489 --> 00:01:57.849
You know, guys, here's a hard pill to swallow.
00:01:58.890 --> 00:02:10.169
Every day we are surrounded by some serious evil. And I'm using that word even though it is a harsh word. I'm just going to say it as it is.
00:02:10.409 --> 00:02:13.930
We are surrounded by evil. And it's crazy out there.
00:02:14.319 --> 00:02:21.919
We have to be careful what we're watching, when we are watching it, what music we turn on. Because my ears, oh, my gosh.
00:02:22.240 --> 00:02:25.840
Where we go late at night. Because, y', all, it is crazy out there.
00:02:26.400 --> 00:02:54.199
And it's evil. It's a result of evil. It can sometimes really infuriate me or make me really sad. And I can get emotionally swayed because it feels like the darkness is winning. It feels like us Christians, us people that love Jesus, that want to pursue good. It feels like we're outnumbered and it feels like there are more for them than there are for us.
00:02:55.080 --> 00:03:17.219
But here is the beautiful truth that I want to encourage you of all today. Jesus won. He's going to win. But he already won. He reversed the curse of death and he came back to life after being nailed to the cross, which means we are saved. And that means he won. And I want you to remember this, guys.
00:03:17.780 --> 00:03:20.819
Evil will one day be defeated.
00:03:21.699 --> 00:03:25.219
It may act like it's winning, but it's going down.
00:03:25.620 --> 00:03:29.379
It won't win. Evil is a sore loser.
00:03:29.379 --> 00:03:51.000
He's going to act all tough, but it is no match for, for the God that we serve. So guys, don't get angry, don't get jealous of evildoers, don't wonder how they get the bigger houses, how they get the fame, how they get the best clothes, how they get the money. Because the righteous will never be forsaken.
00:03:51.800 --> 00:03:55.400
So here's our challenge today. Just stay in obedience to God.
00:03:55.639 --> 00:03:59.400
Stay close to him. Stay close to the church and your church family.
00:04:00.009 --> 00:05:09.629
Keep serving, wait on the Lord. Keep giving, keep lending. And trust in God. Because he has already defeated evil and he is defeating evil. And he will one day ultimately defeat it for good. And he might even use you to defeat evil. Let's pray, guys. Father, I pray that you will encourage every person under the sound of my voice that if they get burdened by what they see out in the world, if they get discouraged, that God you will remind them that that evil, that darkness has already been defeated. And the same power that rose Jesus from the dead is now in them. We are more than conquerors. We are overcomers in Christ Jesus. And allow us all to feel that power in us today. That whatever we face, whoever we speak to, whatever we hear, we will never be discouraged. Because evil will be defeated. And Jesus is victorious. And we are victorious. And in Jesus name we pray. Amen and Amen.
00:05:10.589 --> 00:05:31.529
